  • I bought a Bosch GTS 635-216 table saw as a professional machine. But still, it is a complete low-end device that cannot be used for professional work. Be careful and make sure you meet all the requirements before purchasing the product. #BOSCH - shame on you for selling such products like a pro!!!

    I think you should have purchased a mitre saw, you review concentrates on the cross cut mitre guide which are all notoriously inaccurate on every site saw that you can buy. These type of table saws are designed mainly for ripping wood on site work/joinery and not for fine cabinet making. Having said that I have just purchased this saw and I think its excellent considering it's price which was under £300 PLUS Bosch are doing an offer where you can claim a free power tool from a choice of 4, all worth over £100

    I have this table saw. Using everyday and I agree with you. Weak motor, vibration on hard woods, very unstable rising mechanism( especially after using a year) which causes vlbration and saw marks. Definitely not professional. I like Bosch but no, it is not a good design.

    So do you think the mitre gauge is not for professionals then?

    At the price point of the GTS 635-216 (and a bit above), I could not find *any* product that had a decent mitre guide.

      @@BMIKE999 Here in Europe, the DeWalt is about 50% more expensive*, plus the mitre guide is not a great deal better than that with the Bosch. The protractor is the only thing that is ‘improved’, by virtue of being a bit larger with clear markings. It isn’t indexed and the metal of the protractor (if it is metal) is rather thin.
      For less than the price difference, I got a robust, indexed mitre guide, with an extended fence and a stop, although the latter took a bit of tinkering.
      *I recently paid Eu320 for the Bosch with 2 Bosch blades (24t & 34t) at a local store. I can’t find the DeWalt at any of the 4 large tool stores here in Vienna, but it’s on Amazon for Eu399 + delivery. The Bosch is on Amazon at Eu320. The Bosch has a wider, but less deep table ( 650mm x 500, vs 600 x 600), the Dewalt has a more powerful motor (1850W vs 1600) and the Bosch has a marginally deeper cut (70mm vs 65).
      Cent for cent, I’m better off with the Bosch. The mitre guide is important to me, but the decider would have been that the Bosch sits better on the shelf slot that is it’s new home.

      Bosch should not be selling dangerous components on a tool that claims more hands and fingers than any other single tool. All the manufacturers do it though but they should be prosecuted because the guages are not fit for purpose.

  • @thePavuk

    Still... best in the price range. There is no alternative in range to 500 Euro that is better. But that table is weird, seems quality went down in last year or two. Gauge is replaceable.

    There are a lot of jigs you can make to improve every table saw. This table saw is professional and is excelent. It can be set up to be super accurate. It is not less accurate than any other even more expensive table saw.

    • @pgtips4240
      @pgtips4240 Před 11 měsíci

      Wrong. The guy has made a point. If Bosch cannot be bothered machining a mitre gauge to fit the slot of their own saw then this is a poor show. They would be better not including a mitre gauge at all because beginners will use this to cut angles and experience a terrible kick back and injury due to the play. Yes you can improve it with a jig, the guy is not disputing that, what he is saying the default situation is that the current mitre gauge is dangerous. People will have already been hurt by this flaw I have absolutely no doubt about this. I will say this though, all the manufacturers are the same! They all make rubbish wiggly mitre guages. This should not be happening. If they make a product they should engineer is properly, especially something as lethal as a table saw. This tool is the king of accidents. It has claimed more fingers and hands than any other tool. It's absolutely terrible that these manufacturers get away with doing this.

      @@pgtips4240 No, You san not say that table saw is not good only because of the mitre gauge. There are a lot of more expensive table saws with mitre gauge similar to this. Even this mitre gauge is not unusable, but every professional make a lot of diferent jigs for his table saw for different cuts in order to be more precise. The same is for cross cuts, professionals don't use mitre gauge which is coming with the table saw, and this is the case for almost all table saws.. So this table saw is not the best one, but it can be set to be as accurate as anyone else..

      @@pgtips4240every stock mitre fence in that price range and more expensive is wobbling. That's why pros buy third party mitre and paralel fence no matter how expensive table saw is. So you don't get the point. You're just negative

    I have this one for three years now and works fibe. I just bought a mitre fence for 100 €. This is thing that woodworkers do with much more expensive table saws. Can't call it a scum because of bad mitre fence of 300€ table saw. You are too negative. As you talk about professional you must know that it is not problem in plastic, than track that goes in slot that dont have bearings. That's why is buying a mitre fence regular thing. The sane is with paralel fence. Pros buy 2000 € table fence, and anyhow buy extra new paralel and mitre fence. So don't be so negative

      That's right, this table saw is for engineers, not the general consumer. Engineers need to break it down and understand how not to make tools.
