I have that same exact car, color and all. as a 24 yr old female, single no kids, I love this car. I'm from Cincinnati oh and it just fits perfectly for my needs. it's fun to drive and it's a very trusty little car. I couldn't ask for anything more. it's very luxurious for being cheap and tiny. I'm a chevy girl for life. my previous car was a 2006 yellow chevy hatchback aveo and that car did me good too. they make good cars that last (when you take care of them).
I rented a Spark, drove 834 miles and got 40.5 mpg - and was comfortable for the entire trip. Take out the seat bottoms, the back goes flat and it holds a 36" dog crate with ample room for luggage. LOVE this car so much I am buying one.
Honestly if you see cars as appliances and just want something that moves you, this is a decent option. $15,000 CNET style is a great deal for anything brand new with 4 wheels and an engine.
You bring up a great point! I have not used a CD in a car for the last few years. Everything is downloadable, transferable, or paid subscriptions etc. Now everything can be streamed directly from your smart phone by blue tooth or connected directly and FREE in most cases!
In New Zealand, the Chevy Spark is called Holden Barina Spark and we have the CD player but can't get the MyLink on this model. Also, AM/FM radio only & no bluetooth streaming.
I have a '14 Spark 1LT Auto and my spouse calls it a mower with doors. Granted it doesn't get up to Warp Speed but one thing I sure love is the Fuel Savings. I now spend in 2 weeks approx. the same amount of what I spent in less than 1 & I have a drive of 34 miles to/from work. I have noticed a very SLIGHT improvement of MPG when I drive 65mph vs 70mph. I never used the CD Player when I had my Lexus because I used Bluetooth and/or Aux port.
The problem is in most areas of the USA we don't NEED a small car. And they cost about as much as a bigger car, and now days get about the same mileage too. Smart car nicely equipped is $15K gets 41MPG. Or I could get a nice 4 door Elantra for $17K that has more room, and about the same MPG. Small cars make a lot of sense in Europe.. not so much here, unless you live in New York City, etc. And most of us don't.
My mom just purchased this car for $14,900 LT1 package. It gets 38 MPG highway. It doesnt have the most power but I thought it reasonably got onto the interstate at 70mph. It def doesnt seem like it only has 98 hp.We didnt realize the cd player was missing until we got home. Didnt think to check because we didnt expect it to be missing. Also, theres no spare tire. But it comes with an air pump. That was almost a deal breaker. But it does have room for a spare in the trunk and we will buy one.
I have an android (Galaxy Note II) and it works well with this car. I haven't tried the aps like pandora and etc. I will try to see if they work tomorrow. But I paired it through Bluetooth and played music, made phone calls, voice command and etc. Will play around with it more tomorrow.
I have driven this car since 2012. I have minor issues like water pumps(it cost me about 100 dollars), but it served me so well so far. but auto transmission is horrible, and noise in high speed is annoying. However, what do you expect from a city car like this? it's relatively safe and well built. I love it!
Are we talking about assembly or parts? Because the Sonic is assembled in Orion Township, Michigan (it is also produced in Korea for that market) and the Cruze is assembled in Lordstown, Ohio (also produced in Korea for that market). And by the way, Daewoo went defunct in 2011. They were bought by GM, so yes, Chevy does indeed make the Spark.
This was a fun review to watch! Even though the review wasn't positive, I'd still buy a pair of Sparks if I could afford them (EV and a manual). But I'm sticking with my 2000 Focus for now! Maybe I'll buy a used Spark in a couple of years.
I'm 18 and about to buy this used as a first car from my money I earned on my own and a 1k credit so I hope it stays in one piece for the next 3 years until I'm out of training.
I'm a valet and I get to drive these things all the time. I usually hate Chevys, but this one I find really fun. Surprisingly roomy as well - I'm 6'5" and I can sit perfectly comfortably in the thing. Also, this guy is a twat
I still love owning cds (just like books), I prefer them. I like the proof of purchasing music and it is long lasting with great care; I like the cd booklets too. Whereas mp3 files can get lost on the computer or like iTunes, it will only allow use through its program even after I had purchased the song years ago. Not fair. So I still will own cds. :)
Well that's why you shouldn't use iPhone. The entire DRM and walled garden is inherently wrong. You bought it, it is yours now. The problem is Apple doesn't sees it that way. It is an Apple problem, not a format problem (mp3). About other things, simply rip the audio from the CDs into a flac(or mp3) and you can play lossless audio over (almost) any device. Share you (legally purchased) music over multiple devices using cloud or a computer.
in part probably cause u have to thrash it (limited power, no turbo, 4 auto..) so its advantage declines. same happened when australia gm holden fitted a 4 cylinder the c'dore in I believe the 70s or 80s. it ended up being not only slower but less fuel efficient than the 6 cylinder.
I WANT THAT INTRO SONG!! i wish someone had the full version for downloading or something, i think its CNET's propietary background music but if im wrong or anyone knows the artist please let me know!! :D
Ok bitches. I just bought my Spark a few weeks ago. I think it is a great bargain for the dollar. It is running very well. It is doing very well in the Michigan winter of biter cold, snow and ice. The sensor track on or off. I like the option to do what I want. I like sitting up and there are almost no vision blocks. Some would not consider it a highway car. I have put 2900+ on it in 3 weeks. Its doing great. Solid and doing well. It does not have a temp gauge. I miss that and my cd slot.
theres LOTS of city cars out there, if you havent driven it you wont realize how bad the lack of power is, makes merging and passing kinda dangerous even at full throttle
Drove a manual spark down in spain last week , was given it as a rental car. Hated the pod in front of steering wheel, hated the feel and shape design of the steering wheel and hated the vague gear box especially hitting reverse. Like stirring custard with a lollipop stick. Rear boot lid very tinny and boot space laughable. Didnt know what this car was or was like before I rented it, so at least I can avoid them now

+booshiebear101 Fast forward one year. Still happy with the car?
+blueonblack83 lol
*Daewoo girl for life
What about now?
How tall are you? I'm super interested in this car but very short, so I'm not sure how well I will drive in it. I'm 4'11
LOL 3:25 "Now the engine on the Spark, uh it was here a minute ago, ah there it is".
This guy is flat out the best car reviewer in the biz.
I can't explain why, but I like this car.
كيف تلقى آل اهرامات مرحبا مليون
Just bought the spark ls version and I love it, I commute about 60 miles a day round trip for work so it works out great
Hi do you still have your 2013 Chevrolet spark
I bought this car three months ago and absolutely love it! It's great for city and freeway.Very user friendly
0-60: Sure
JosePh CoNey after driving the car "maybe" seems like a better fit.
"Idk if I'm changing gears or churning butter" LMAO this guys reviews always make me laugh
I couldn't care less about the lack of a CD player
So, you could care more about the lack of a CD player?
+NAWLEJisPOWR thats what hes getting at in the review.
You can only carry 3 CDs anyway
Me too
How TF you feel now my 2019 fusion has cd player you can borrow hahahaha 😂🤣😂🤣

unless you don't want a car that falls apart.
I got one for 800$ 3 weeks ago
no matter what he says, I love my 2014 Chevy Spark 2LT
"I'm not sure if I'm moving gear or churning butter!" Ctfu
"Now, the engine on the Spark.... ehhh....it was here a minute ago" - brilliant!
Early sparks look pretty cool
I enjoy watching your videos, they are genuine and very informative ..... !
Brian you just keep getting better and better I love C net
Brian, you are by far the Best automotive journalist ever!
I hate how in car reviews they spend most of the time talking about the technology and navigation system, it's a car not a bloody home theater
"I'm not sure if I'm shifting gears or churning butter, meh....it works" I love Brian Cooley! 😅
the road bumps are killer
I can accept any thing this man say the way he talk bad or good on the cars is just great
I rented one and really liked ! Great mileage .
Thank you for posting the video!

Need a good first car and this seems like it's the one I like the reviews and especially the price, it will be a great first car for me
Nice head unit - done right. Wouldn't miss the CD

I have one alright it ain't quickest in the world but it's cheap comfy loads of room inside great on fuel and insurance does what you need
I think the interior looks sweet with all the red trim. Hell I'd buy this car and right now my vehicle is a '97 chevy 3/4 ton.
I have a 14 Spark 60k miles no issues great little car does the job
My mom just purchased this car for $14,900 LT1 package. It gets 38 MPG highway. It doesnt have the most power but I thought it reasonably got onto the interstate at 70mph. Wow, CDs are going the way of the 8 track and cassette player.
CDs are still used. not all of us can swing triple-digit smartphone service.
I have driven this car since 2012. The car looks great and it is getting popular in my country
Very lovely car!
Hmm how can this be their first mini have they forgotten about the Chevrolet Sprint and Geo/Chevrolet Metro?
Finally manufacturers are building cheap cars that aren't cheap. :) Love it.
For 2013 that onboard Computer was very good especially in a car that was so cheap
"Zero to sixty? Almost certainly." 🤣🤣🤣
@alazmiAlameera its called a Rav4 btw. And it depends does she want expensive big and a little costly on fuel or cheap small and amazing on gas.

I'm actually considering this little thing! I REALLY want a summer car and with all of the options in the sonic for 15k?!! Not too shabby.
I have one and i love it. its bad ass. allows me to drive my vette on the weekend withot using much gas.
10 videos all at once, Brian must have been a busy beaver.
You can get a CD player on the LS
@andrei Anderson yes Pandora is good,I use it every day,and yes its free
it really is, i get the same mpg with a four cylinder 2.0L and it makes 130hp
0-60: Sure Hahahaha oh that's funny
I'm 18 and about to buy this used as a first car from my money I earned on my own and a 1k credit so I hope it stays in one piece for the next 3 years until I'm out of training.

Also, this guy is a twat
Besides being a matter of taste, it is less expensive and it serves the purpose
There was a car in the US with far less power sold as late as 2001
all i can say is transformers
Haha I love his humor!
Does he live in 1999 that he wants a CD player? Completely obsolete feature these days...
I still love owning cds (just like books), I prefer them. I like the proof of purchasing music and it is long lasting with great care; I like the cd booklets too. He doesn't want a CD player. Watch more of his videos and you'll get to that conclusion.
not all of us are upper middle class who can effortlessly afford triple-digit monthly smartphone service, so CDs are still essential for us.
This nice great retirement car from mini
Hey Brian can you review the new Honda accord please
i like spark
i'm thinking about buying this car or Toyota A4 for my wife, she never drove a car before, so whats Recommendation.
in part probably cause u have to thrash it (limited power, no turbo, 4 auto..) so its advantage declines. same happened when australia gm holden fitted a 4 cylinder the c'dore in I believe the 70s or 80s. it ended up being not only slower but less fuel efficient than the 6 cylinder.
Im in Vegas and I've seen alot of these on the street more than the over priced IQ. Chevy got it right with the price point.
could always test drive one and see.
Phiên bản Spark ở nước ngoài có thêm đầu DVD màn hình tích hợp điện thoại rảnh tay, GPS bản đồ, Camera de
Yeah they really need to put a CVT in that Spark. The auto is a traditional slushbox with lockup.
truth, new subaru impreza does as well- awd 148hp
lmao
Cooley just has a magnificent charisma that the other presenters don't even get close
Look at those gucci ass looking seats.
I WANT THAT INTRO SONG!! i wish someone had the full version for downloading or something, i think its CNET's propietary background music but if im wrong or anyone knows the artist please let me know!! :D
I live small car like chevy spark.
does Bringo work where there is no cell towers?
I just bought this car today, and while I don't encourage anyone to buy this car off of my 4 hours of experience with it, ITS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!
Do you guys recommend this car?
I'm looking at a used one to use as my daily commuter
I would. I am getting it as my first car. I am getting a manual transmission. Since now we are in 2020 a 2014 model is worth 5k so it's great.

It has a smaller engine and puts out half the HP of a Mini Cooper which gets the same mpgs
Is the Pandora app good? Is it free?
I have this baby.
Mark The Great 21 You must be proud!
Thanks man.
Got one 3 weeks ago for 800$ lol
This little bastard is fun to drive. I'd have one for 12 Grand.
"Shifting gears or churning butter"! Lmfao fucking Cooley! :0

Cooley = WIN
this cars detailing looks like a bad acid trip especially the headlights
Question I'm 6'4 is this car for me?
@MrSteven31131 Are you kidding!?! Have you seen the Mirage?
I laughed at "0-60: Sure"
I'm looking for a used spark I heard they were a okay commuter car..
How the cost of it now
Driving along in this car is driving along in a shoe....the resemblance is striking
It bugs me that reviewers of this car condemn it for not being something that it was never designed to be.
this car must be a killer at 85mph....
does this car has a roof?
Hello from 2020 where no one even owns CDs anymore but they do own Vinyl for some weird reason lol
I'm glad were snaping out of it...
at this point this is my dream car if had money to buy a new car
