The reason for the wind being at the tips at higher speeds is because you need a longer downrod.

Thank you for posting. I am considering this fan but our ceiling in our living room is 35' at the peak so not sure how effective it would be

I have a 96" minka, it hasnt lasted 5 uses and its knocking and wont turn fast... I bought it before finding it on amazon and reading all of the bad reviews.
