    So the male commentator, after Ovtcharov won the 1st game, said that Ma Long's backhand is weaker than Ovtcharov's, and that Ma Long's forehand is good enough to be compared with Ovtcharov's. I don't know what to say anymore.

    Thanks for sharing!
    Btw I do enjoy FULL match :-) Besides, I can easily speed up or skip the unwanted part of any video as I wish... at the downloaded ones :-) and JDownloader excels for this job

    Glad to see Ma Long started to use reverse spin serve, that helps his forehand advantage

    this is a classic match, literally the only way to defeat Chinese work ethic is by introducing new elements such as Ovtcharov's crazy serves. but as soon Ma Long learns how to handle them, then the serves stop mattering, and the game dissolves back into the question of who's better. Ma Long rarely strayed from his serves, the Chinese just practice so hard that they get to crazy heights.

    • @vincenttheo8841
      @vincenttheo8841 Před 8 lety

      +chimyshark It's the technique and footwork that matter the most in table tennis. And yeah, their hard work and practice made them possible.

    Turn off the audio so you can enjoy it with your basic table tennis skill/knowledge.

      +max factor They're Taiwanese commentators. Taiwanese commentators are known to sound salty sometimes when commenting Chinese games, as if Chinese lost equals Taiwanese victory.

    Thought this male commentator being an associate professor of physical education and sports Affairs in Taiwan and a retired table tennis player from the 70's should have the ability to contribute useful tips and dissect some key rallies in such a high level competition. However, it seems that he's severely behind the times in modern table tennis. By the way, the mandarin spoken with some sort of Taiwanese accent is annoying and comments on the whole are poor.
    It's far better to watch another link for the same event hosted by either mainland Chinese commentators or English critics. They are up-to-date professionals who truly know the game and clarify details on the spot.

    • @vincenttheo8841
      @vincenttheo8841 Před 8 lety

      +Wing Lau I know how you felt. The commentator's accent annoyed me too. But actually his analysis was mostly on target. I was a professional athlete before, and most of the time what he said made sense. But I can imagine why it would be unclear to non-professionals because he couldn't give the "big picture" and he focused too much on the smaller technicality of the match.

  • @GaryMations
    @GaryMations Před 9 lety

    I don't think any non chinese will have a real chance against Ma Long at worlds. Their only chance is that Ma gets beaten by Fan Zhendong or Zhang Jike. Surely Ovctharov made some good points, but he kinda is at the form of his life and still gets outclassed overall here.

      Yes Ovtcharov did very well especially the first two sets. Powerful backhand!
      But adding this game, Ovtcharov has played Ma Long 11 times in various events. The record is 0: 11.
      See the head-to-head statistics here:
      www.ittf.com/competitions/test/head_to_head_search_M2.asp?p1_id=105649&p2_id=107028

    • @GaryMations
      @GaryMations Před 9 lety

      Xin Shane Li Exactly. Ovtcharov has a very agressive playstyle and like u mentioned a very powerful backhand that may overrun the opponnent like he kinda did here, but after that it looked like Ma Long is this little bit better at this point. But that is what we expect from no1 of the world

    • @vincenttran5920
      @vincenttran5920 Před 9 lety

      GaryMations fan zhendong cannot beat ma long -__- ..... only zhangjike has the capabilities. just watch their game who do you think ma long is more comfortable playing against. zhangjike play to ma longs weakness, while fan zhendong like to play with his strength, in this case ma long likes to play against those type

    • @skywalker1296
      @skywalker1296 Před 9 lety

      Vincent Tran Fan Zhendong is too young. he is only an 18 year old, and already comparable to ma long, xu Xin etc.
      he will soon be better than them.

    • @chimyshark
      @chimyshark Před 9 lety +1

      symba if anybody steps near the table with Ma Long (at least in the recent times), the match has already been decided. It's literally just a matter of how they die, either a skunk, or die in style. everytime Ovtcharov scores a point, it makes the match more interesting, that's all.

      Squatting for 3 seconds before serving must put unnecessary pressure on the legs, thereby affecting his fore-coming leg movement.

      Jiawei Zhu 男的解说比杨影好上百倍。。。杨影只会介绍东介绍西,一点儿战术也不说。这男的起码会讨论起基本战术。女的压根儿上是垃圾。不过男的说的不对。马龙的中远台不输给当世任何选手,而台内功夫天下第一,所以除了张继科在大赛的超水平发挥之外,没人打得赢马龙。。。奥恰只是反手发力比马龙强,其他全输给马龙。
