How come they all tell the PAROLE BOARD about drugs in jail/prison, right where the inmates are located, and the board just continues. If you want these inmates with substance abuse disorders to get clean/help, and at least help with their re-offending, then why isn’t the board addressing this with the state, counties, and cities, both jail and prisons?

I’ve said this before and I will say it again till I’m blue in the face if we are serious about drugs being illegal, we need to make them unavailable. That means we need to stop using anything addictive for pain management. We need to come up with a way to eliminate pain not just manage it eliminate it altogether that can’t be gotten addicted to
The sad reality is that right now we have no alternative. I am on them right now while I wait 2 months to get oral surgery for my jaw coming through the flesh on the left side. I am taking as little as possible. There is no alternative, I'd be losing my mind without some.
That’s not how dopamine works though. And Tylenol for severe pain is a joke.

I thinks that’s apart of the problem a better solution would be to decriminalize drugs and open more facilities that helps addicts and addiction as opposed to throwing all attics in prison for rehabilitation but the sad fact is prison is a multi billion dollar industry and unfortunately the politicians and government see the industry as easy way to make money off the tax payers that’s why they preach tough on crime to instill fear in citizens to make them believe that locking people up is fixing and helping the country

I think the second woman came to the parole hearing high as she is talking about her sober plan . I definitely think she is on something nervous not sure if that is it.
This is definitely strange to watch them keep drug addicts in but release the child predators rapists and killers left and right like it is no biggie .
I don't think she is high but I have a weird feeling about her. She comes off as slightly above intellectually out of the population incarcerated there( which sadly doesn't say a lot and in no disrespect but I know first hand unfortunately) She comes off more manipulative and calculated imo. I don't trust what she's saying in regards to her plan and can't help but feel like she has plans to continue with her crimes just more calculated.

The fact that she had to read her statement and it didn't come from her heart is a no no imo. "I won't ever do it again" tells me she knows nothing about addiction and she will repeat..
She was 5 ft in one direction from killing many people, including herself. I didn't hear anything about being a good role model for my children. And I would have wanted to see proof that she moved. But the Two Towns aren't that far away from each other anyway. An they skirted over all the other stuff that she had. I wish you the best of luck, but I think that's going to be a story of a cat chasing its own tail.

Insurance? I had $1,500.00 worth of brand new equipment for my job (that was hidden in a locked trunk, down in the well of my car) stolen. My insurance company paid me only $250.00, even though the equipment was still in the factory wrapping, with the prices on them, and I had kept the receipts.
The robbers also smashed TWO windows...the rear, and the driver's side. It cost me $1,000.00 out of pocket, and they raised my rates after I was robbed. So, I am out $2,250.00, and I am a senior citizen on a pension.

That first one…. All her good going forward intentions are just a big pipe dream. Her biggest argument for staying clean is her grandchild. That never works. Her health issues, back and shoulder issues, you need to change your eating habits and do yoga. Not being able to work…. Way too much time on her hands. Her big sobriety plan, after much thought, oh a sponsor and that was it. Unfortunately, she’s just a dreamer.
Concerning she was making excuses for not going to AA. That's what she needs, not Alanon. Alamos has a totally different approach.
it's like talking to toddlers, imagine being locked up with some of these folks...follow the law folks, or at least don't get caught, lol And that's a public defender I'd want on my case.

The parole board does a good job. They don't just give in but try to ensure she/he understands the extent of the crime.
There absolutely are people that continue to use while in AA/NA. But, each person should work their own program, unaffected by another’s actions in the group. Find another group until you can comfortably get your bearings if it’s that uncomfortable around you in the first group you try. You can’t just throw your hands up and call AA/NA “fake”. That’s an excuse.
Al-Anon is a group for family’s worried about someone else’s drinking, etc and/or codependency. Chick # 1 is a total bat in the crazy department. She needs a lot of “proGRUMS”😂

Petty, height of pettiness to criticise incarcerated women for their hair! Women in prison are a vulnerable population with limited access to facilities and services and statistically come from backgrounds with the fewest opportunities and most hardships and victim status of sa and dv.
If you can't find anything more significant than hair to find fault over, you might get more out of watching these videos if you consciously engage with your critical thinking skills.
And how do people who come from good homes get into drugs in the first place?
Pain...good home has nothing to do with it. People who don't know how to process emotions properly escape, numb and avoid.

What does "coming from a good home" mean to you?
I came from a great home and childhood and got into drugs honestly due to friends and boredom as terrible as that sounds but I never expected to get addicted. Stupid, I know but I never had an addictive personality and thought I wouldn't feel withdrawal sickness and I would be able to stop before my life had gotten negatively affected. I did later learn of a few undiagnosed health concerns and mental health that if I had been diagnosed and treated, things may have been different but I don't know.

In areas where drugs are not available, they make their own, or huff aerosol, or bag paint. People who want to get high will get high. A guy in my rehab's drug of choice was mouthwash.
