- The singer Lhasa de Sela passed away in her Montreal home on the night of January 1st 2010, just before midnight. She succumbed to breast cancer after a twenty-one month long struggle, which she faced with courage and determination.
One of her last performances was her rendition of "Donne-moi la flute et chante" أعطني الناي وغنّ
The lyrics were written by Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran and the song was originally made popular by Fairuz in the 1970s. - Hudba

I learned of her passing that very night. Patrick Watson beamed the terrible news out into the darkness, in the middle of snowstorm that was gobbling Eastern America everywhere from Montreal all the way down to New York City. I had been waiting for her tour to reach English Canada since the preceding April, when she'd released her final, self-titled album. She'd given a few concerts in Europe and Scandinavia in August and September. And then we were told she'd ended the tour prematurely for _health reasons._
I was not expecting her end to come so soon.
I was in old Montréal, in the neighbourhood where I used to live, near the Beaudry metro stop, in 2017, for a concert marking 7 years since her passing. Her friends and family gave wonderful tributes. The most haunting moment was when they used the hall's sound system to play a recording of her telling stories and singing in concert. And it was almost as if she were still among us, hiding in the wings. As if it had all been a horrible joke. Alas, no.

Non ell a change la melodie de fayrouz. Qui etait pas interessante sur tout la chanson . Seul le refrain est bien chez fayrouz . Et le vrai secret de la chanson c est le texte de ghibran
