I love the lyrics "I try to remember the wrath of the devil was also given him by God". God made him the way he is. He made the devil with this wrath and then condemned him for it. Same thing for humans. He made us sinful and then punished us for it. We're punished for things we had no say in. It's cruel.
these lyrics hold so much meaning, there is so much room for interpretation and thats what i love about songs like yours. beautiful music mitski

This reminds me of some of the older era mitski stuff, and I like it. Even with this in mind, I cant wait for the new stuff she has planned.

Mitski's songs are art, I love each one of them, I love listening to them all day when I need to, and when I listen to Mitski's music I do nothing but think how lucky I am to have known her :,D

I flinched so hard at the choral repetitions even though I came to expect them. It's a strange dichotomy - listening so intensely to her voice, even as I cringe away from the wall of sound. And yet, the chorus gets softer as the song progresses, until I'm flinching at nothing and yearning to hear more.

mitski is one of the only artists ive ever known to actually make her music art. its visual, audio and emotional art and its so intentional and so beautiful and visceral and you dont really see that in music ever , so thank you Mitski, our god, for reminding us what art is and how it can make us feel
