@r_ elentless01 Actually they are fighters. They just don't have weapons armed at this moment obviously because it's an airshow. But they are fighters.
@r_ elentless01 so all the birds on my flight line must be reclassified i guess. We never keep them armed. Every base only keeps a handful armed, racks and all.
Broke the sound barrier, if you pay attention to the screen right at that moment you can barely make out the Shockwave pushing through the camera view.
Adam Alexander not only that but by definition it’s traveling faster than the speed of sound so you never even heard it coming until it was overhead. I know there’s regulations about staying subsonic in like residential areas but I guess beach/ocean is ok.

When younger, around the time of Desert Storm, they did a routine sort of like this out at the airshow at Biggs Army Airfield. At one point, one of the jets snuck away from the rest of the group and literally came up on the crowd's 6 at what felt like a mere 30 ft above our heads ( probably wasn't that low). He was already two football fields out infront of us before the sound of his engine ripped the sky in half 😆 I was about 16 or 17 and literally went to my knees. Best air show ever!!!
Oh man! They did the same thing when they were in Fort Smith, AR. I'm watching the other T-Birds doin' their thing while walking around the tarmac looking at exhibits, and all of a sudden....WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! It looked like he was coming straight at me!! I immediately hit the deck and like you said, it looked like you could almost reach up and touch him! Awesome show! :)
I live within a Mile of Luke AFB and I love hearing and watching the Jets everyday. Air shows are great when the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds fly right over my house, literally. Feels like my house shakes. Freedom !!
My dad was in the marines and we lived on the base and the flew jets literally everyday. I never realized how lucky i was to see them until i moved to massachusettes💀
My dad spent 10 years enlisted in the AF. His first duty station was Nellis AFB, Home of the Thunderbirds. I got to see them very often. One day I was outside playing and there was a little rumble when one of the Thunderbirds out of nowhere buzzed the rooftops of out apartment building. My dad was home and walked outside to check on me and to find out what the hell just happened and I remember just pointing to the sky and saying "Thunderbird."
The sound of freedom. When your on the ground, engaged, sweetest sound you've ever heard. They don't even have to drop ordinance, just fly over. Having said that, when they put steel on target, awesome!
I would hear these from time to time. While in boot camp Lackland USAF San Antonio Tx. Now I jump into my 2016 red C7 ZO6. And imagine I’m one of these guys. 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣👍🏽🥂👋🏽
I've lived on an AFB for more than half my life at this point (I'm almost 18 years old). My dad isn't in the AF anymore but if there is one sound I miss the most it's the sound of jets. I used to always wake up to the sound of a F-22
I remember watching the blue angels down in Miami Beach and was so focused on the group flying by that when they passed it was a little quiet and out of no where this one came flying by just like this video and scared the crap out of me 😂. I’m excited to see the Thunderbirds for the first time in 2 weeks!
Yes, especially the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels. I have gone every year since 2010 with my photography meetup group. This past year, 2019 it was the Thunderbirds. They group up out of sight during the show and suddenly arrive in formation.
I remember my first air show when I was a kid and the thunder birds where performing and man, the name says it all. Made me jump when that jet is going by with full afterburner.
Blue Angels do the Sneak Pass as well. Took my toddler kids to an Air Show in Wilmington, NC. The Sneak Pass scared the bejesus out of both of them and made them cry.

Thunderbirds.. the only demo group to add in random sneak passes in the show! I was at a show last night & knew when to expect the first one but they got me with two more! There's only sneak pass that remains the same and it's the trail back to diamond roll. The rest are unexpected and random!
I remember the airshow in HB. They had us fixated on another aircraft and right behind us at full after burner, it scared the living shit out of all of us. We all almost jumped to the floor lol. Was the most awesome experience.
I've become something of an expert at picking out the sneak passes. When you see a six-ship formation, then a four-ship, then a soloist, there's a sneak pass coming. Look around.
I go here every year with my dad and the local firehouse he volunteers at and I sat on the roof of one of the trucks that day and watched the show and despite the clouds got a brutal sun burn in the shape of a tank top
I went to go see them in Huntington beach, California and we got distracted by 4 of the thunderbirds flying high and quietly in the air while one of them snook past us with extreme speed and the roar of the engine scared the absolute shit out of us
Lol, I've seen the Blue Angels do that. I've seen the Navy guys several times over the years, but not the Thunderbirds... opportunity never presented itself for whatever reason.
Man I just love the sound of those jet fighters.

@r_ elentless01 Actually they are fighters. They just don't have weapons armed at this moment obviously because it's an airshow. But they are fighters.
