    Had very mysterious symptoms with my 15 Ford Fusion SE 2.5. It also had both stalling and cranking problems. Had it scanned and had 20 codes. No check engine light turned on ever. Just the stalling and cranking problems. Took it another shop they got 22 codes . But I was mostly able to drive to these shops it wouldn’t malfunction no stalling or stalling. They couldn’t tell what it was. They suggested an auto electric shop. When I drove car there not once did it stall or have any cranking problem. Long story short, it didn’t stall or have a cranking problem. Had it for an hour shutting it off then on again not one single problem. They couldn’t even scan it. No codes came up. I took it home been driving it around perfectly normal. Now today noticed the battery current sensor was just hanging loose the tape came undone. Could that have cause it but what about the unexplained where it all was perfectly normal? Very mysterious

    Can a bad battery current sensor give u a parasitic draw?

    • @slimsautomotiverepair8714

      It is a possibility but not at top of my list to check. Are you familiar with how to perform a parasitic draw test

    So if we check the alternator while it’s on the car could that still be the problem and can it make the battery go bad?

    • @slimsautomotiverepair8714
      @slimsautomotiverepair8714  Před rokem +2

      It will not make the battery go bad but will give symptoms as if it was. How are you checking the alt.

    • @mechmomma1055

      @@slimsautomotiverepair8714 I checked the voltage at the battery when running. It was at 13.9 volts
      I figured out that where she took the battery to be replaced they broke her positive hold down lil wedge screw so that why the charging system light kept coming on.
      Also if the auto parts store check your alt while on the car and if it says it’s bad it might not be but they’ll still sell you an alt then give you a hard time getting your money back when you go up there. The customer had them check it also and they sold her one and she brought it to me to change out.
      Point being check both the terminals thoroughly because that setup on the positive breaks easy but looks fine on inspection
