Even after watching several other CZcams videos I was still having a heckuva time reinstalling my magazine release on my Colt Govt. Series 70. This was the first video which clearly explained the reinstallation technique which worked like a charm. Well Done and Thank you, al
Good video. Nice even steady pace that is easy to follow and makes it look easy and routine. Love the blooper at the end, we have all done it. Thank you.
My RIA Tac II is a freaking beast to put back together-I've shot that shit across the room too many times- couldn't find it one time for a whole day...
I had to laugh when he twisted the recoil spring the wrong way when removing it from the guide rod. I think that's one mistake EVERYONE makes. It's counter-intuitive to twist to the right to remove it, but that loosens the spring and it slips right off. Great presentation. Thank you.
The blooper!! Haha I've shot a few across the room over the years! Def a good idea for glasses when doing this as I never expected to lose control over the first one...... or the last one 😁
Really want a 1911 and could slap myself for trading a Colt Gold Cup 25 years ago but Rock Island has a good reputation and very good prices so definitely interested in getting one. Awesome video .👍
I was about to click out of your presentation, but chose to stay. I'm glad I did even tho my gun is a newer model and does not have the more authentic barrel bushing at the first part of the disassembly. Mine has to be done with a paper clip. It was a excellent instruction. Thanks.
Decent video ID'D all the parts, that's good. Should have id's all the tools needed. Some viewer's may be newbies, beginners, or inexperienced. Lighting should be improved so people can clearly see what you're doing and where. Also mention safety grasses because some parts are under spring tension.
No, you absolutely don't need to do a full breakdown like I show in the video. All that's ever really needed is a basic field strip and clean to keep it functioning properly. I did the full tear down, just in case people want to take it that far.
You made this job seem relatively easy. I have the model from before they moved the logo to the rear of the slide. My mag does not drop free. Any suggestions? Hates steel case ammo, again, any suggestions besides buying better quality ammo?
Sounds like they upgraded this model quite a bit. I'm not familiar with the older firearm. I'd try to send the gun back to RIA and have them fix any unusual problems.
Someone told me to try different magazines, chip McCormick or the other higher end mags, I bought a gun show special and had the same problem, wouldn't drop out. The mag that came with the gun works great though,I just wanted more mags
The 1911 is one of the SIMPLEST handgun ever invented, lots of videos out there showing total detail strip and reassembly in less than 14 minutes. But this video lasts over 30 minutes! So many extraneous unnecessary detail here.

Thanks for the tips!
You drove the mainspring housing pin from the wrong side.
Too long to remember. Do we really need to do all this?

You are right buddy. My video is ubiquitous and has way too many superfluous details. I'll try harder on my next video.
