Great question! Most communities tend to use text as a primary gathering grounds...such as forum or chat, but I am seeing more and more communities running virtual meetups ion Zoom on a regular basis to bring people together. I have done this a bunch and it works well. :-)

I think a lot of this depends on the kind of community you want to build and how much time you want to devote to it, but a simple solution could be a Discord server with bots where your CZcams content is automatically published there.
If your channel is focused on a product and you want to have product discussion, a forum is probably a better fit.

How does the soft launch change with a paid membership community?

I don't think it changes that much.
For example, when I started www.communityleadershipcore.com/core - I started with a small set of members to dial everything in.
