    What's the braap, braap sound as you do those jumps early in the vid (as in 1:48)?
    Also, I felt myself puckering up on those steep sections at the end, wow - steep and technical - well done!

      @DaleStone  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Hmmm, more than likely it's the sound of my jersey rubbing the camera, or some weird wind noise that isn't getting cancelled for some reason...

    That bike looks awesome but it's so quiet. Are you running a silent clutch in the freehub because i can't hear the freehub at all. I guess the high pivot eliminates chain slap because you can't hear the chain either. You only hear the tyres which sounds great.

    • @DaleStone
      @DaleStone  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I run Onyx Vesper hubs, which are both dead silent and have instant engagement. I'd highly recommend them as an upgrade to almost literally anything else: bit.ly/OnyxDaleStone
      As for high-pivots, they don't inherently eliminate chain slap, some are actually quite noisy! Deviate has definitely done a good job of quieting down this Claymore though.

    Was your riding buddy also on a Deviate? A local youtube guy in my area in the North East just picked a claymore up because it was so unique, he put out some really glowing reviews on it. I would be interested to hear what you have to say about it.

    I like the style you ride and how you approach problems....and show them in your edits. It is helpful to me in my riding and I try to stay calm and have some semblance of grace working down steep problem sections. That is a pretty bike. Do you still use EXO + casings without inserts? I was thinking you would need more than that for your racing or maybe you are better at line choice and don't need as much casing support?

    • @DaleStone
      @DaleStone  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I've been using Delium's Rugged Reinforced tires, which are probably 2/3rds the way between EXO+ and DD. They support the channel and they've been great, so I'd recommend checking them out! bit.ly/DeliumDaleStone

      I would love to see a smaller company than Maxxi get my money. Do you use the extra soft triple compound front and back? I'd like to save $40 per tire and replace them sooner. (Just replace two yesterday) I have Assagui EXO+ Grip front and DHR DD Grip back. I'll look at the Dellums some more to understand if the tread pattern is similar or better. @@DaleStone

      Yes the reinforced casing uses the extra soft compound.

    Recently replaced my Mezzer Pro with an Intend Edge (180mm) on my Claymore. Have you tried this fork? Loving mine.

      I've tried the Bandit on a friend's bike before, and would absolutely love to ride the Edge on mine. Hopefully Intend has some ambassador openings next year... 👀

    Haven you ever thought about using a ND filter on your action cams? It will help a bunch on the glare you are getting from the sun when you are riding into the sun or on bright sunny days. Just a thought

      Usually I'm riding near sunset and struggling for light, but if I'm riding up in the alpine in the summer I'll definitely consider bringing myself. Conditions within the forests are usually too dark when the canopy grows in mid summer unfortunately!

    I've been drooling over this for a while. The only thing stopping me is the fact that they don't have a mullet option. I love mullet set ups and never quite got use to 29'ers. With that said, would you know if it's possible to go mullet on this?

    • @DaleStone
      @DaleStone  Před 10 měsíci +2

      New 29ers are far better than those of even 5-6 years ago if you haven't tried one recently! Currently there is no mullet option for sale for the Claymore, but I can pass along the feedback for sure. 👀

    Damn man. Since riding the Forbidden Dreadnought I was thinking about test riding the Claymore when it came out. That red and even the green model look amazing. Nice you went with wired shifting. I find the AXS to be louder than shimanos xt/xtr. How do you like the german Intend combined with XTR discs? Awesome looking brakeset. Greetings from where they are made 🤣

    • @DaleStone
      @DaleStone  Před 10 měsíci +2

      They were a bit finicky to set up with the XTR rotors with basically no clearance at all, but once the very slight warp/rub was controlled they've been great! Long video on them soon. 🙂
