Katakuri is kinda a nice guy all in all, he doesnt seem to take pleasure in hurting others for no reason. He mostly just wants to keep his mama and siblings safe
I mean, that just means he's not a sadist. But a nice guy doesn't try to kill people who weren't even making fun of him and were even swearing on their lives that they would never tell anyone about it. But this is anime, where having a rough childhood is apparently enough to excuse trying to murder innocent people and considered a "good guy".
He's just a prideful guy who protects the ones he loves. His heart only follows the will to protect his beloved ones, but his way of solving things is cruel and evil. In other words: for him, it doesn't matter the side, be it good or evil, if it allows him to protect his beloved ones, he's in.
@@jackjacques7495 oh c'mon those chefs were just plot device to show how angry he was seeing on that state. If katakuri wouldn't react that way he did, it would feel like it's not that big of a deal for him, which it is, for his whole character. And the whole loosing his cool, failing to see the future, wouldn't feel right if Kat didn't get affected much. This is the way for the story to show how impactful that event was for the character, without it, we wouldn't really know so

at the end Katakuri was both physically and psychologically messed up, at the end he went down not cause of his physical injuries which were bad but it was more psychological fatigue he had, he could have keeped fighting but he just didn't had a reason too keep fighting.

What's up with Katakuri's mouth isn't explicitly stating in the story, but was given through other material. But I'll make it need a drop-down in case you don't want to read it anyways!
At the Age of 3, Katakuri ended up eating donuts SO fast, that his mouth ripped open, thus requiring the the stitches. He also didn't acquire his Devil Fruit until the age of 5, so there was no free stretching from it. So yeah. Katakuri got his mom's ravenous appetite!
It's not quite Sanji himself, but there is a Baratie restaurant in Japan that serves the dishes cooked in the show, along with character specific dishes!
Fun facts: the 3 brothers who attacked germa nusstorte(capt crunch guy) baskarte(the fire vampirr guy) and dosmarche( fu-manchu old dude) are triplets and custard, cracker, and angel( the girl with like a green sweater cape and pink grass skirt and boots during the wedding fight) are triplets too. One of the funnest things was figuring out and learning about all the charlotte siblings and finding out who was the minister of what on what island of totto land ;)

Hey respect, most of the reactionists weren't able to pick up that Luffy being able to dodge and land attacks was due to Katakuri's anger blindsighting him from being able to utilize observation haki. Same with how he was dodging haki attacks.
Imagine how it was for us, waiting for almost 5 weeks to see luffy hit him back, it's such more of an impact when you have waited that long! i .. SCREAMED xD

the thing about this fight compared to others is that Katatkuri considers Luffy a real threat and will not hold back his punches, whereas others they consider Luffy as beneath them and would underestimate him playing around with him as some punching bag. Although the only major fight I could think of where the opponent doesn't under estimate Luffy was Rob Lucci, but they were on equal level compared to the beginning of this fight

What's funny is that even though that was clear, you still have a bunch of people so obsessed with Katakuri, they'll swear to their dying breath that Katakuri was holding back...even when Katakuri himself states he's not, and is genuinely surprised Luffy can dodge and endure his attacks like that. That's what fanboyism does.
This is not a spoiler, by the way. Katakuri's stitched face is because when he was 5 years old he got on a rumble eating doughnuts and opened his cheeks. They stitched them back, but he kept eating doughnuts anyways. It's in a Vivre Card package, I think
