I love how they pulled a bunch of their older stuff sowed it down and added symphony instruments
Rise against always make me imagine I'm lying on the hood of my car watching the stars with a friend or lover talking those weird deep talks that only happen at 4am when all the walls we live behind are down and we don't hide the emotions trying to burst out of us and you can just sit there and recognise the other person is just as lost as you but it's going to be ok because you're not alone
Barry Cassidy you should think about those thoughts all the time. If these guys are actually about what they sing about, Tim would want you too. Everything around us is crazier than you think.

I dropped out of high school 17 years ago out of necessity to have a roof over my head. I've battled addictions and homelessness. I'm now a college Junior with a 4.0; I listen to this song each morning to keep me motivated to better myself and my situation in life.
This song has kept me alive through the hardest times of my life. 20 some days clean again and I listen to this song every day to remind me of what I've overcome and to inspire me for the obstacles yet to come.

@@Azrantha yes. I'm 90 days clean on the 15th and I'm working a really good job and doing all the things. Life is good. I'm relatively happy most of the time and that's a big deal.

Everyone says their favorite band is has the best vocalist, or writes the best songs, subjectively praising their tastes. Rise Against are not my favorite band; they don't nail every song - and whilst the other members are all solid, I think Tim McIlrath might genuinely be the best lyricist (and acoustic composer) in modern rock music. Consistently dealing with mental health, desperation, advocacy, trauma, anger, resilience, love and joy, he can always craft meaning out of the lexicon, with flow, structure and resolution. - Well done Tim

Revisiting old playlists from high-school. Its wild how much can change in 3 years.
I was diagnosed with Autism in 3rd grade. For practically all of my life people have been telling me, in no uncertain terms, just how hopeless I am. I've been told that I have no future, that I'll require help for the rest of my life. It hurts so much more because people seem to rarely listen to what I have to say. They try to tell me exactly what I am, and they try to fix me.
They tried to claim that I have no empathy or emotions, yet music like this makes me cry, and fills me with a strange sense of warmth and bittersweet... something. People treat me like I'm violent sometimes, but I'm really not. Honestly, I abhor violence with all my heart. I want my life to be peaceful and joyful, and I want the same for those near me as well. For everyone, really.
People have treated me as pathetic for so much of my life that I believe it firmly to this day. I believe that I'm hopeless and that I'll never amount to anything in my life. I've even attempted suicide a few times.
I'm now turning 23 in just under 2 weeks, and I've been living on my own for almost 2 years. I still have a hard time believing it, but I think I'm beginning to question everything that I've been told all my life. I'm even learning how to solder electronics in hopes of someday opening a vintage game store & offer a service to do repair work on old consoles
These are few of the most encouraging words I've heard in my entire life. My girlfriend has been nothing but supportive, as well. She knows exactly how to drag me out of my misery, and I love her so much.
It might be crazy, but I'm even trying to right a series of novels. However, it's only in the world-building stages. Music like this inspires me so much, for both my life, and my beloved story. Not sure if Rise Against will see this, but on the off chance that they do; thank you so much. Your words cut like a scalpel and help to remove some of my anguish.

I was so psyched to see this song got a ghost note symphonies version. Rise against is my favourite band and this song is in the top 5 of my favourite rise against songs. Had to put the volume all the way up and sing along.

I just love it... and it makes me emotional every time I listen to it.
There's something special in their lyrics, something that hits the soul.
Rise Against had a big role in changing my life when in 2015 I finally had the courage to leave a boring European life stuck in an office to start travelling by motorbike heading east without any fixed plan and time limit... a decision that I'll never regret. Those guys with their songs really helped me thinking of what life is and why we should reconsider it when we feel in a cage.
One more time with this song they make me feel that the walls that all surround us are only in our minds...
Nice song about fighting ur way out of a hole of depression. And not staying to wait for a miracle.

The only thing that keeps it from being a perfect song is the bridge, which is kinda awkward in acoustic. The rest is splendid!

I like this one, more than I expected.
Many wonder, what is meant by "truth comes twice a day". Well, Catholicism/religion says that man is to pray "twice per day" and even has specific times designated for praying. Praying is like asking for a short cut to greater knowledge, success or enlightenment etc.; praying short-circuits ones path to knowledge and erects a great wall in ones mind. Those who ask in prayer are ignoring the laws of causation-and those who ignore the laws of cause and effect are only asking for confusion. One can only have solace, peace of mind/closure in things which they know, which believing and praying bypasses knowing. Only thank when you pray...Bless God-He blesses us enough.
