16 mins to deliver that amount of valuable info across so many units might be a record :) This is why you guys are my go-to coffee channel
After 2 years of owning the Frieling... I recommend getting the cheap Bodum and brewing James Hoffman style. Hope this helps someone :)
I am going to live in a small camper and I like my coffee and tea. Naturally it is not the handiest thing to have a coffeemachine on board. In general they use up a lot of space and a lot of electricity.
Both of which I will not have in spades. So I am looking into French presses. I can boil a liter of water (yeah, I am metric, sorry 🙂) for tea.... and coffee.
So a French press seems like the best solution for me. I am completely novice on the French press front. So this video was very informative. Thank you.
Brian, as usual excellent and very comprehensive video - making a subject with many variables very easy to understand. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely. Thank you!
Cool video. I was waiting for you to talk about the water you use i.e. distilled, spring or tap water? Once I started to use distilled 💦 50 years ago, I haven't gone back to any other kind. Without a doubt it makes the best coffee. No added flavours from contaminated water.
Excellent comprehensive guide. Actually, when using Aeropress, I cut out discs from my Chemex filters, as the Chemex paper is superb quality and even more efficient in producing a clean cup...
Great tip. Thanks for sharing!
Always great information I’ve used identical or similar items to what you’re showing here right now my current favorite is my Espro and I’ll bet you can guess where I purchased it!😃 I don’t mind the sediment from single filtration, used a Bodum for years and still love them but the Espro double filter is unique!
Indeed and Thank you, great to hear from you!
Espresso double..... healthier way... less of the oils from coffee that lead to higher cholesterol. I am getting me one. Been using a single filtration for long time... everyone, not conisseaurs ( sp. Is not correct... not good at words and sounding out. Lol) but, have taken different tips over the years. Learning as I go...
1.) Start out with hot carafe
2.) The wetting of beans.)
3.) Use only wooden spoons to stir up the coffee & water.
4.) Steep 4 min.
5.) Press coffee press down.
5 use a filter to pour out coffee from French press.
6. Move coffee from French press, immediately to a superb heat retaining carafe.
Enjoying my coffee more so than ever.
Need a grinder, by hand kind, to grind fresh coffee beans. And, a source of the freshest coffee beans.
#gainingskills👍
How long does fresh coffee beans stay fresh? When to not use them.... off to the garden soil then. 😉
Best way to keep your coffee beans staying as fresh as possible?
Great information my friend. I like the oils and less filtration. Just my flavor profile.
I'm definetly intrigued my friend. I love my French press been using it for years.
I use a Bodum, I've never had a bitter cup of coffee from it. If I wanted to, I could just get another mesh filter and add it to the existing one.
Got a question. what if after i grind the coffee and use a strain to remove those "small" particles, will it remove the sand like thingy that stays at the bottom after brewing and avoid over extration?
you were speaking of using a conical burr grinder as opposed to a blade grinder, But what about a Flat burr grinder opposed to a Conical burr grinder?
Thank you for this very informative video. Does the aeropress make regular coffee or espresso type coffee. I’m just a regular type coffee guy. Thank you in advance
Thank you. Well Aeropress is somewhere between Coffee and Espresso. So if you like Americano then you'll love Aeropress. Hope this helps.
Why is sterling pro french presses no longer on amazon?
What is your experience with the caffi coffee filters for the French press?
The spro has filter parts made of plastic. Is it safe to use in contact with hot water?
Can I add a paper filter between the screens on the dual filtration system of my Sterling Pro?? Since I remove and clean the screens after each brew would it just be an added "layer" or would it be an added problem?
Which one was your favorite?
ˈkīˌbäSH. Thanks for info!!
Thank you.
Thanks for getting rid of the horrible sound effects. I had to unsubscribe for that reason. If I see more videos in the future without sound effects I will re subscribe.
Thank you for sharing all of this information.
I'd like to know . . . is it possible to use a paper filter between a dual filtration system to filter out coffee oil?
Yes you can with Espro
English lesson: Less in quantity - Fewer in number. In other words: Less bitterness - Fewer coffee grounds. Less coffee - Fewer cups of coffee.
How do you describe "bitter"?
Is it the sourness?
It would be hard to describe but if you take a pinch of salt and take a sip of coffee without salt and then try with salt (salt will mask bitterness) you will taste a difference. Hope this helps.
Espro press , I like to now if is plastic in filters , Trying to buy the best one for health reason , very allergic to metal plastic & others things , so confused been seeing so mean videos/ plus very allergic to oils , I have one cup of coffee a day I want to make sure I won’t get sick
i would look into getting a chemex or a V-60, or a kalita wave. the chemex is all glass and you can use paper filters, the V-60 and kalita wave you can get in glass or in ceramic, also with paper filters. but if your looking to cut oils and acid out of the coffee i would look into making and or getting cold brew coffee. hope this helps!
I use paper filters with my french press....you just have to cut them to fit.
Great tip. Thanks for sharing!
I Buy very expensive organic low acid coffee, I wish I new wish coffee maker or coffee press the best to buy for myself, if anyone has any idea please let me now thank You
Important there is a "T" in the middle of that word, not pronounced impordant....DRIVES me crazy. Outside of that this review is excellent and it is very clear that you have outstanding coffee brewing knowledge. Thank you for sharing your expert opinion.
It's just an accent difference, a feature called 't-voicing', which is used in most American accents. Have a great day!
Lavazza done in a 3 cup stovetop percolator takes some beating, Cuts through all this crap.
Other than paper, which acts as a depth filter, these are all screen filters. The only significant difference is the mesh size on the last layer. Most of your info is I’m sorry to say BS.
Impordant
It was long because lots were repeated more than once.
lmao "cholesterol from coffee" please, tell us why coffee cholesterol is bad for you...
"Dude..." Get a SCRIPT and stick to it. You have a limited-appeal-personality made worse by adding those verbal footnotes. Set a timer, and rehearse.
