Hey Fam! Welcome back to another DIY Hair Tutorial. I have decided to do another Crochet Afro look and this is my absolute favorite thus far! This will be called The Afro Chronicles & this look was created with the Xpression Springy Afro Twist and I am serving you AFRO REALNESS HUNTY!

K Garrison you could use a wig spray but personally I didn’t spray anything on mine while I wore it. Hope this helps.

So i came across this video and one main information was never mebtioned or shoen and that is the length the length is important because some person might not want a 16" while another person might need it i wore this hair before in a up down style but not the afto
Hi love, I appreciate your comment but keep in mind that this video is from 4 years ago. And at the time I recorded it this was one of the only length available (even the packaging did not have it listed). As popularity of the hair grew I do know that the company updated their packaging to include the length on the front and also created longer and shorter lengths, but I did my best to provide all info that I had available to me.

How long did u keep it in for?😍
Hey boo! I usually go between 3 -4 weeks depending on how my braids hold up. If you use a little braiding hair to strengthen your braids you can definitely stretch it to 4 weeks. If you’re natural hair is braided up I’d recommend 3. Oil, grease and or condition your scalp while crochet is in to make sure your natural hair is healthy.
@@QuinitaCharnell I usually grease my hair very well before styles like this should I still oil it from time to time?
@@QuinitaCharnell actually I will since it’s cold but again the poofy hair covers the braids so will the air even touch that deep
@@QuinitaCharnell is it okay if I twist it at night and unravel to wear it in a fro during the day? Bc I don’t want it to mesh
I usually wear mine in a pineapple and since it’s synthetic it’s going to mesh together as it ages but it’ll still look great! You’re welcome to twist it up at night that may prolong the interlocking.
First, beautiful. Second, why does my hair always come out looking so freaking sparse even when I think I have packed it?
Thandi M thank you hunny! And in regards to spacing - it may depend on your braid pattern. Sometimes we can underestimate the amount of space or pieces that are put in because it “looks” full.. I would recommend using the same pattern I did in this video or the half & half method. Half & Half Method = the front of your hair is braided straight back halfway and then connect all of them by braiding across to one side. Then finish the back of your head with 4-5 straight backs.. this will make it easier to gauge how much hair you’re putting on each braid.. hope this helps☺️
