I own an AZ7 too. An excellent recording work horse with its super easy ATC band tuning computer. It was the last cassette deck ever built by Technics and you can tell they felt the need to cut costs just by comparing the mechanics of the BX-7xx series with the AZx. Too bad, they also dropped dbx and HXpro from the AZx, too - otherwise it would have made it the perfect fool-proof recorder.
AZ6 and AZ7 do have HXpro. As far as I know it is always on so there is no HXpro button, but it is described in the manual. dbx in cassette decks was a 1980s fad, you don't see it in any machines from a later era.

Nice deck. I used to own an RS-B13, which was another good Technics deck from the mid 80's. I had it for around 10 years, then bought an Aiwa AD-F450. That too was a good deck, with fine bias adjust etc. I used a lot of TDK SA Type II blank tapes back in the day, which I found to be very good. I was put off using Type IV or Metal tapes, as I heard they could wear heads a lot quicker.
At the beginning of the song it sounded like a bad case of Wow and Flutter... ...then i realized the song itself was already like that. You scared me with that 😅... That's a super high speed rewind, beautiful... it uses belts its kind of a issue to me, direct drive is better but its another nice piece. Thanks for sharing! ...now lets see the next vid!
Hii!i have a az 6 which doesnt calibrate brand new tapes like normal maxell UR and chrome maxell xl II .it doesn t pass the bias calibration.the atc functions on sony normal ef and sony metal xr.do you have any idea what could cause this atc fail?belt and oinchroller are brand new.also heads are very clean
that's quite vague... what do you mean will not play? you press play what happens? do the heads rise and everything move but no sound? or you press play and nothing happens, nothing moves? if it's first one, could be bad news about the film head
Был у меня такой... Сам по себе аппарат хороший, но, если на нем слушать, то шумит между песнями как вертолёт, хотя на записи шум минимален. И ещё был дисбаланс по каналам... А так все норм.
@@capetown1242 как я помню, хотя уже трудно, это связано со сквозным каналом. Т.е. кнопка монитор - это включение записи с ленты, когда она ещё записывает, а директ - это прямое прослушивание, Вы слышите игру источника.

paulo fixo hi mate the belt isn't an issue it's still easily available, vids in the pipeline are Sony wm-dd33 and technics sl-ps7 if i can fix them 😜

I have this deck it will rewind and ff but will not play the tape, any ideas what the problem may be
