Man, your right. Sounds exactly how I thought it would. I had a dt 175 in 1994, it was my brothers, but it was stolen but we got it back. He gave it me for my birthday and I used it for off roading during the summer holidays. It never broke down and started after a couple of kicks. Great fun. My best friend broke his wrist when he gave it a hand full of front break on loose gravel and he binned it.
The DT175MX was my first bike back in 1980 and it was so expensive, I brought it new for 916 Maltese Liri and one could buy a plot of land to build a house at 2400 Liri. At that time one could not own a bike bigger then 250cc on this island so it was equivalent to owning an F-14 Tomcat, at least that's how we felt .......Those were the days.
Aw waw memories, i had one similar didnt have the stripes on the tank or indicators and mine had the squared off tachometer and speedometer unit and a more slimline (probably aftermarket) taillight ,nice man 👍
What did it sell for....??? I had one the exact year..but blue take and side panels...loved that bike....and it didnt hurt to work at the Yamaha bike shop......parts were real cheap then....
I had a DT175 back in the mid to late 80s.....I should not have sold it when I did. It was unbreakable and I had so much fun on that bike.

The very first motorcycle I ever owned a 1979 DT175MX the bike taught myself how to ride a motorbike on fields. Mine was blue and black.
