The thing I never got was that in season one her father trigon ripped her heart out and transformed it into the red stone that he placed in her forehead. I assumed that was the only thing keeping her alive and that she didn’t have a heart anymore? Or have I forgotten something?

I thinl jer jeart becoming the crustal was some kind of metamorphosis. She basically evolved. It propably is what recreated jer heart.
