according to me that's much easier than something like an instant close 0.3 open 3x3 piston door

9:07 bro thats locational. replace that block on top the piston with a note block or add another piston updating it
Youre wrong, that line is not being 0t'ed. On extension it is ofcourse reliable. And on retraction, even if it gets qc'ed, the piston will be updated by its own piston head, making it reliable.
could you add the texture packs you use in the discription
why dont you use slime block?
