  • In this video we set up an Electrical view in an existing project.
    Ceilings need to be created if not already done.
    We insert sockets, switches and lighting.
    Once complete you can return to your original plan view and hide the electrical elements using the visibility glasses at the bottom of the screen.
    The electrical library used in this video is from the Autodesk UK English content pack

    Wouldn't it be better to work on the ceiling plan?

    • @ArchnRevRichard
      @ArchnRevRichard  Před rokem +1

      You could do if you prefer, however I personally would find it better to gave a dedicated electrical plan for when you lay out drawing sheets. Plus depending on the type of ceiling used you may wish a ceiling plan to show other features.

      @@ArchnRevRichard could you duplicate a ceiling plan view and place the light fixtures

      @ArchnRevRichard  Před rokem

      @ociv delos you still need a physical ceiling to be placed to put the fittings on. Also, you may have other electrical fittings that would not show on a ceiling plan.

      Hi Dany, the electrical library file used in this video is the standard one that comes with revit. If you are missing the content you need to download the library file for the version you have from the autodesk website.

    Why do you not take the Electrical Wiring ?
    Why do you show only Detail Line why not Circuit?

    • @ArchnRevRichard

      I know that you can do much more with electrics in Revit than I do here and that is great. However, for this video I just wanted to show a simple electrical layout drawing. To give a bit of history… 25 years ago when I used to do architectural drawing by hand, the majority of work I was on at the time was houses and extensions to houses. It was common to draw a simple layout showing lights, sockets and a few other bits. The purpose of this really was to help gain accurate and consistent pricing from the contractors who tendered for the work. When the jobs were built an electrician would do their own circuits etc and our plans were more of a guide at that point. So this video is more in that vain, just a quick simple plan that can be priced for tenders.
      Hope you are enjoying the videos 🙂

    You have not powered your circuit

    • @ArchnRevRichard
      @ArchnRevRichard  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The purpose of this tutorial is to show a simpler way of doing an electrical layout. It does not have the benefits of circuits etc but is suitable for small projects where a designer wants and electrical plan for pricing purposes.
