On Monday, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi caused an uproar in the Lok Sabha with his remarks targeting the BJP, accusing those who call themselves Hindus of “only talking about violence, hatred, and lies.” PM Modi interrupted Gandhi's speech, stating that portraying the entire Hindu community as "violent" was a serious issue. When Rahul Gandhi stated, "those who call themselves Hindus are violent," he displayed a selective bias against Hindus. This statement overlooks the diversity within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which includes Party/parliament members from various religious backgrounds such as Muslims, Parsis, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists, in addition to Hindus. By focusing solely and saying"those who call themselve Hindus are violent", and by not mentioning entire BJP/RSS, Rahul Gandhi unfairly characterizes an entire Hindu community as violent.
That is why Rahul's statement is communal in character

You are missing a point. Many muslim leaders in general after independence wanted power to rest with them. When British took over, Mughals were in power; when they left Muslims wanted the country back. Hindus were subject to so much atrocities during Mughal rules, prior, and after India Independence. There was nothing to unite Hindus and no one speak fir them. Radical myslims grew in last 10 years and there was media propaganda instilling fear among muslims in mainstream. It is a fact if Hindus stay ununited, the pseudo secular force will reign in again.

I am Hindu too and I too don’t want polarisation and division based on religions and castes. I don’t want lynching of anyone (not just muslims). We (as a majority in India) have been treated badly too and continue to have biased laws against us. Both Government and Opposition need to stop this as both are playing their dirty games and rhetoric. I too want a strong opposition but not to talk such crap and bring up such issues, instead focus on actual issues, laws and development of the country and all people! Hindus need to stop apologising for being a majority and become victims of wokeism.

The opposition/Congress are the worst perpetrators of such division in the country. They did it by focusing on specific parts of history and ignoring others. According him: hindu should not respond but just sacrifice. Their wealth should get distributed, temples should be taxed or even if genocide like that of Kashmir should happen - Hindus should be non-violent. But if radicalism happens in wayanad or Bengal - that is peaceful.
No political leader (ruling/opposition) represents anybody. They simply gravitate towards potentially vote-getting issues, spin a narrative, shed crocodile tears to gain confidence and votes. They usually move on tin search of new issues. Every dirty politician plays this repeatedly on his peoples.

Then, his alliance compared Hinduism with dengue, malaria, and it should be eradicated. There were religious places in TN where gods' idols were beaten with chappals. His another alliance TMC in Bengal has disallowed temples from performing temple rituals in remote places and are violent about it.
The problem is not the statement per se; the problem is how selectively biased he is. Historically speaking, a constant morale down of a religious identity kills their identity, their ability to excel, and creates an inferiority complex or even to defend. This has been happening for ages under our noses through such casual statements. You must also know that India's Congress once refused to form the Indian army because Gandhi wanted to portray India and Hinduism as non-violent. Imagine if he had said the same thing for Islam in the same vein, despite the brewing radicalization. Could he have?
No offense to you, but politics is not something that can be understood on a surface level. There's always an intent behind a word or statement uttered in public. Usually it is as dirty as dividing people for vote bank.
It is clear that BJP is on the backfoot. Their days in power is numbered . Afterall people of this great country cannot eat religion all the time. My humble submission to my government is this. Please focus on the wellbeing of all the citizens of this country. In a country as diverse as India the government should ensure that peace and harmony can not be compromised. Crores of people do not have shelter to lay their heads. Why not think about this? I hate to see our leaders talk about religion. According to me the duty of the one who rules is to ensure that every one enjoys his or her existence on this earth.

Rahul Gandhi's "Ahimsavaadi Hindus" theme is a re-assertion of the Nehruvian Secularism which took away the teeth from the Hindus by feeding them on the good feeling that they are great because they don't react when someone carries away their bahu-beties and converts them to his religion. Rahul's attack is on BJP which, during two decades created an atmosphere where Hindus began to hit back. Congress wants to bring back Nehruvian Secularism where the "educated" and "enlightened" Hindu should prefer to weep and beg rather then hit back when his religion is attacked.
