- Hello! Today we are travelling on one of the most iconic railway journey, Bergensbanen. We will be travelling from the city of Bergen all the way to the capital of Norway, Oslo. And yes, we will travel on a reclining lie-flat seat on a train! Can you belive it? This journey will be during the winter time and we will travel over the night.
Let's find out together how it is travelling in Norway in winter time on one of the most famous railway journeys on a lie flat-seat!

Live there good start at Brygen
The prices will depend heavily on when you order and how much traffic it is on that date. Can be cheaper than your prices and can potentially be more expensive.
WIll be very cool when the new trains for this line comes in 2026! As your video shows this train has started to show it's age (the toilets as a clear example.)
In Canada we have a 4700 Km / 5 day train journey across the country in train cars from the 1940's and 1950's and people don't want them replaced with new, modern ones. I have a trip booked in November in the same cars that my father travelled in back in 1955.
@@suddenlysolo2170 Keep in mind the Norwegian trains are mostly for transport and not tourism, but there's of course quite a bit of tourists on say the Bergen line. So I'm more than happy to get brand new trains here. It would of course be cool to get a tourist travel experience one day, maybe from Oslo and all the way up to Bodø, the problem right now is that we need more double track rails. Capacity is not great and a lot of the tracks are old.
Parliament recently passed funds for a night train to Copenhagen in the future, that could be nice. Would give travelers a new alternative to go to Copenhagen.

City between 7 mountains
Very different from the long distance Canadian trains that I'm used to. I'm not a fan of the dorm-style sleeping cabins you showed though.
