True, i agree many film makers do these days, i think its a shame as Zack is so talented...For me Synder is so creative, from the characters and worlds he creates, to the incredible visuals like nobody does apart from maybe Villenuve (Dune guy) and such great action scenes, sorry Jaby i know action is ur thing...The problem is he can over complicate his scripts and the plots can be very convulted at times..Even though he makes big budget movies he has a niche fanbase..He needs a scriptwriter to work with to make his movies more accessible to the general public and stop making such long ass movies that when edited down can be hard to follow for casual viewers...If he doesnt eventually studios will stop bank rolling him..

Seven Samurai is about 2.5 hours and didn't spend the whole movie recruiting the Samurai, it was like 15-20 minutes. Definitely need to watch it, feels like almost every Star Wars TV show has had an episode (2 in the case of Clone Wars) based on it. Excellent movie and still holds up today.
Rebel Moon is the type of movie that has a better flashback than the main plot. Imagine the main plot is the flashback where started with Korra being adopted by the soldier, involve with military, fell in love until her lover died in battlefield and she ended up become Royalguard for Royal family until her adopted father toppled the government. That's a better movie than recruiting stuff.
7 Samurai is a literal masterclass in filmmaking. Writing, directing, cinematography, acting... it has them all. Rebel Moon has zero of those things. Well, it has them. They're just shit.

Watch the original Magnificent Seven instead. The first half is meeting the Seven, who you come to care about during the last half, learning about each one individually. Plus when they return to take back the village after being kicked out..just epic.

haven't seen the movie, is the last section (the mechanism scenes) real footage from the movie, or behind the scenes in the studio with the blue screen in the background, because it looks like crap even for Snyder.
It's going to be funny when the director's cut comes out and yet again adds little to nothing to the story, but people will pretend it makes it a much better movie. Just like Batman V Superman. 😂
To be fair Batman Vs Superman did make a lot more sense and was a better movie when it came to the ultimate edition. Did that make it a good movie? No, it was still pretty bad but it was at least more coherent than the theatrical version.
You could easily tell this version of the film was heavily redacted. But the skeletal framework that was given to us was still satisfying. I could sense Snyder's vision outside the margin of the film. It's derivative, sure, but it shouldn't be completely dismissed. Just because a film is not considered good doesn't mean its not entertaining
Everything that was pointed out is just Snyder... Even in 300 there's this scene with the people from Athens being like "we wanna join" and Leonidas is like "we don't care..." (Even when somehow they are actually fighting with them on their side later...) Then he asked his own army who they are and they said "au,au!" Which translates to "no one gives a shit according to the director"... Even so 300 works well because it's all a narration,a legend,which is for what the style of Snyder works for. But using the same in each single movie he does it's just painful to watch...
What's sad is that that even if you haven't seen Seven Samurai you've most likely heard of the plot and seen something based/inspired by it since it's been used in many movies and TV shows both in live action and animation, the plot isn't too complicated so to get it so wrong especially with so many examples to study is unforgivable, A Bug's Life was able to pull it off so much better than this.

Man of Steel does have a few slowmo shots. 2 of them are when Clark does the Jesus pose in the water after the boat explosion and in space. The slowmo is very subtle so it doesn't stand out as much compared to the rest of Snyder's films.
Re Rebel Moon's viewership, Leave the World Behind (Julia Roberts & Mahershala Ali) which came out around the same time on Netflix absolutely destroyed in comparison and is now the 6th most watched movie in Netflix history & likely be #5 once the numbers are updated next wk!
I'd rather watch a movie made by m night shyamalan than Zack Snyder, at the very least at least m night shyamalan's movies are somewhat interesting and every now and then he gets lucky and makes a really good movie
The bad thing is, 0 character development. Mc is stoic as the character from Twilight without any charisma at all and she's skinny as heck wanting people to believe she can kick some asses. If only Angelina Jolie still young she can easily become the main character.

Hey guys, i agree Achara its very derivitive. unlike u guys i actually enjoyed the movie but im also a big Zack Synder fan and i liked the fight scenes and the cool Spider bad ass lightsabers....I think the slow mo when u pause the scenes can look like tableaus and many people dont have problems with the slow mo as u guys do, my brother thinks he is the worst Director of all time but i disagree....Unfortunately the script was pretty basic and it really had no character development which Ryan George really layed out in his funny and astute brand of comedy...Im a big fan of Synder movies but i hated his Netflix Zombie movie and found this forgettable..Is this the Netflix action movie curse or does Synder need to hire a scriptwriter to work on his movies from now on with him...I will watch the sequel on Netflix but have no expectations.Sofia Boutella is great though. Enjoyed ur reactions even though i disgreed with some of it..😊

It's alright ... it's just a matter of taste. It certainly isn't for everyone. While I love The Seven Samurai I feel the same way as you do about The Godfather. It's extremely boring and Marlon Brando's celebrated performance is just over the top and unintentionally funny to me .
