This guy plays so fast, he would be finished the gig and be drinking his second beer while the rest of the band are still on the first song.
Ramon is a source of pride for all Brazilian drummers, we are well represented.
Edu Nogueira , Yes sir
excellent drummer
this guys heart beats in paradiddles
paradiddle heartbeat-the album
Ryan Miller Lol
Ramon is one of the most important drummers in Brazil these days. He is incredible! Not just because your technique, but about his musicality.
Absolutely. He's super musical and a great all around player. Thanks for commenting.
That's what really struck me about this video - outstanding technique aside, everything he played on the pad was just so MUSICAL.
I've always loved Brazilian music & drummers like Teo Lima and artists like Djavan
Amazing technique. I became friend with an american drummer from LA in the 70s as I was touring Tunisia with the Tabarka festival. He shown me ways to practice this. This guy was not as fast as Ramon but he was damn fast. He was touring too, drumming with a latin fusion band from the US. I have practiced this, in and out since and it changed my playing to the best. But I never truly focused on it. To get to such speeds... rent a hut on a beach in Thailand for ten years and only take your pad and sticks. Don't come back before you're done! This is hard work man! You've all my respect Ramon..
Thank you Kalani for your kindness and happiness with life, drumming and us!!Thanks a lot!!Hugs my friend!!Hope to see you soon!!
Thank YOU! Your playing and personal approach is inspiring to so many people. Thank you for allowing me to share a little.
I am going to practice the HELL out of this! Ramon, great instruction, and INSANE technique!
thank you!!God Blees you!!
Que técnica top parabéns
Thanks so much for sharing Mr. Montagner! You are ridiculously good!
Still coming back for this stuff, admiring, shaking my head, getting depressed and excited at the same time
omg. this is insane. I knew open close tech could reach high speeds, but this blew me away. impresive
Wow! I am excited to practice this technique. Thank you!
Agreed!!!
Ramon is one of the best drummer in Brazil. I had pleasure to see him playing live with São Paulo Ska Jazz band. He's a great drummer and a great person.
Geysler Niclevicz tks Geysler!!Hugd!!
I wish him the most success. He deserves it!
So far the most astonishing playing technique that I've seen in youtube. And this stuff surpasses all the most praised drummers, too
looks like you dont know jojo mayer
@@w.s6124 I know him alright... he 's probably at the same level with push-pull
@@seppoinnanen5577 so same level or supasses? you cant have both
@@krusher74 I let it between this guy and Mr Mayer to resolve... just my thoughts about this amazing talent
I haven’t seen much of this from Jojo, but in the explanation Jojo gave years ago, he didn’t show the technique at this level. Doesn’t mean he can’t, but I’d love to see it, if it is out there
Wow, talk about someone being able to kick my butt with one hand tied behind his back. Amazing!
This truly did excite me! Thanks for the inspiration Ramon!
I practice the push pull technique and i couldnt imagine developing that kind of speed with it. And on both hands? Truly incredible
Excellent demo on how to start slow to master “push pull”. So push pull started who knows....Switzerland, Europe US...spread to Brazil, now the Internet and thus to whole planet!
Shout out to ramon.really appreciate u taking out the time to give us a look at this technique..im sure it serves u well in type of brazillian music..thanx very much for the tips although I have yet to try this but u bet your bottom dollar im going to..thanx again
This is the first thing I've seen in a loooong time that is truly awesome and exciting in the world of drumming. Great explanation, exercises, and slowmo.
this is nothing new and exciting. Buddy rich used this and also jojo mayer uses this: czcams.com/video/X8Zfdank3rI/video.html.
@@w.s6124 ya not this fast though
@@ObscureMachines never seen jojo or buddy do push pull on a Pad but you are propably right...
Yes absolutely, if one asks me I think very few people actually realize how insane Ramon's playing really is, especially with the push pull. He's a phenomenal artist as far as musicality goes & with the next level technique he's in a league all by himself! Another thing to is that in another vid Ramon says he's been practicing/using the push pull for 20+ years! That's what he's sooo proficient with it, to have the capability with push pull like Ramon take multiple years to master, I've been practicing push pull for around 7+ years and barely can push 16th notes @ 130-140bpm. I've been more consistent with practicing the technique the past 2 years which has been a big help. Therefore unless one is literally practicing this technique for 30min+ every day for years on end, to get to the level Ramon is at will take extreme persistence & patience, and even with serious dedication it will take years! With that being stated, I still find it incredibly inspiring and hope to one day be able to do what Ramon does and more, all the best to all the drummers/artists out there! 💯🙌
Brilliant technique!! Great video, thanks!
I'm not a drummer but I can listen and watch them play until all day...so sometimes I end up at videos like this one and I find something really dope. This time it was not only a technique but also dope slow motion w/sound which drove the point home for me. Thanks, another sick drummer to check out!
I have been training this technique every day sins sins 14 aug 2017 started out really slow and almost gave up, but I stuck to it and now I play tight and fast as F! Still now where this guy's talent ofc :)
@Aphexon How is this technique going for you these days? Do you have any recommendations for how to even get started learning it for a beginner?
Where are you at with it now??? I’ve just invested my time into it
This interviewer asks all the great questions. Thank you man! This made it a lot more informative
Galactic Punt Thank you. The goal is quality information.
This guy is a monster. Not only fast but also expressive. So this is basically push-pull technique on steroids. Awesome.
Absolutely incredible! Well done man!
Good Drum lesson! Thank you!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! !!!!!!
Im a new drummer but this video was amazing because it challenges and inspires me to learn and have more fun practicing thank you obrigado
Awesome! I´am using this technique for quiet a while now but the idea about practising accents never came to mind. Thanks a ton!
I spent months on this technique, and after months, couldn't get it faster than 16th notes at 100bpm or something. Looks so easy, I just couldn't get it anywhere near usable speed. Kudos to those who can though!
I hear u bro. Its in the muscle control and reaction time etc. Its in the Jaens! either u have it or u don't.
I don't at all think your genes are what's limiting you. I think it would help you to watch and listen to the video more. Try to be sure you are doing exactly as he does. Keep in mind the importance role of gravity in this technique. Try hard to utilize gravity maximally. Notice the slight change in hand-wrist angle. I think early learning on this is best done with a soft roll as it will help you more easily learn the feel of the physics of what is happening that makes this workable. Most people probably can't be as awesome as Ramon with it, but I feel certain you can do better than you have so far...technique.
Stephen Mackrill more like 3yrs before you see progressiveness, muscle memory is inhibiting a new technique in order to adapt or even change your current proficiency. He got gray hair soooo me thinking he's been doing it about 20+years
Hahaaaaaaaa, Ikr, trying to give a brother some home.
Fantastic tehnique. Thank you sir!
Drums are wonderful. :D
Crazy good!thanks for posting!
Very inspiring, thank You!
Thank you both! Wow!
thanks for sharing this! awesome! slow motion clip was great, too!
THAT'S AWESOME
This video gives me so much hope that this is achievable with practice. Thank you!
This technique is amazing. Awesome video
Who cares who created what. This guy is forging ahead.
Holy crap that's amazing!! 🤤
I had a high school student that could do this all day long. Could do it with pencils too! Didn't need rebound. Basically taught himself. It was wild. Down side though - couldn't read music very well, couldn't play drum set at all. But he could do this!
which classes would he work on the technique
@@onesyphorus I don't know. He basically taught himself and practice with a pencil! during school classes. Could absolutely fly with a drumstick.
@@jpritch2 i'm assuming he didn't know it was an official technique... regardless, that's nuts!!
@@onesyphorus yep
@@onesyphorus he knew it was called "moeller" cause his big brother told him. lol. I wish I had made a video.. He could do it just as fast with a pencil as a stick. crazy.
Wow, this guy is amazing.
Fab! thanx for sharing!
man... the speed is so crazy-insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just WOW!👏🏻
speed, technique, precision and a lot of swing
Wow increíble gracias por compartir tu técnica !!

Fantastic extreme skills! I’ve tried this a few times but never saw it explained in such detail! I guess I give it another whirl..lol
excelent technique and explain!!!
I totally admire drummers, you're brilliant. You make it look so easy!! Me and coordination arent the best friends at the moment lol but I'm still learning and these videos of yours will be great to watch, thanks! Any tips for strengthening your weaker hand? I'm really rubbish with my left hand
Perfect, thanks! :)
This is insane!
What an amazing drummer!!!!
Very cool. I’ve been working on this sort of thing lately. It adds just so much more palate.
really amazing and incredible .. !!
Thank you guys...beautiful sharing technique. A new generation of CZcams musicians awaits but they still gotta practice to keep up !
Whooooot!!!??? Very impressive!!
Groovin Hard, Brother!!!
Great and unique Ramon !! Proud to be your friend ! Abração.
This is food for my soul !
🖤🤟
This is a great video! I’m going to start learning this technique to be able to play fast 8th and 16th notes in a groove.
WHY I DID NOT DISCOVER HIM BEFORE??!! THIS GUY IS F''''''''''''G AMAZING
This is the most amazing display of push pull I've ever seen. He must have 30 years of this in the bag.
looks like you dont know jojo mayer and buddy rich
This is very helpful and empowering. I've been working in this direction and this gave me a great visual that I can use my brain's "mirror neurons" to teach my body to do it. Thanks! I truly believe that we also learn drumming subconsciously as we see other drummers execute things we have not thought to do. A video like this is great proof of that. I noted, too, that it's not just the fingers lifting, but in a subtle way, the entire forearm working behind the hand. Great stuff.
Amazing!
Insane!!!!
Incredible
O mestre dos mestres na bateria, Ramom!

Crazy tehnics! !!!💫🔥🔥👍👍👀
Great!!
Great Sir
Wow! It's a great!
I get the the technique and i can do it at a reasonable speed, I just can’t seem to get a feel for taking up to higher speeds. Looks like the thumb is involved a bit more in some weird way more than the wrist is at higher speeds. Wish someone could elaborate
