Beatles song “Baby’s in black.” You are an example of what an average guy out there can accomplish on his own without a lot of money and hiring someone else to do the work. Thank you for this video!
Thanks BW! Old-school is all I know. The old Devilbiss gun is a really nice piece. I have newer guns but they don't spray like this one. Now I have to order all the firewall stuff and start building it out. Have a good one Buddy
Thanks Man! There still of few of us that build cars like people did years ago. The world is convinced all cars should be built at a shop and spend 100k on a resto. Later
Hey Big Don. Beautiful job on the firewall. You handled that spray gun like you've done it a few times. I know when you do the body it will look awesome. It was nice to meet Buckeye. Have a good one buddy!
Y Don you are a true Tri 5 afficionado. In the late 60's and early 70's I was a Parts Man at a Chevrolet dealership. I handled a lot of the parts you are working with. Your videos bring back a lot of fond memories.
cool beans the firewall turned out great like everything else. good to see someone else uses a solar paint booth too. i use a box fan to get airflow to pull the overspray away. single stage paint dries to a nice high gloss. cool 56 parking brake light too. i like the new fence. good to see the old pup out side .
Hey Jim! Yeah man the firewall turned out real nice. The old pup is hanging on man it's really something! I love all the cool old accessories from the 50s. Later Buddy 👍
Firewall looks great Don! What’s funny is that I did the exact same thing on Sunday, painted the firewall on the windowed delivery so I can put it back on the chassis, that’ll be my next video! I put your valve covers in the car tonight, I’ll send em out tomorrow from work. I’ll be more than happy to buy those rear guards Don, just let me know what ya need for them. These valve covers are on me, I’m glad you can use em! Those old tung-sol rectangle flashers are worth a small fortune in themselves, that’s one nice piece you got there, you know I love those accessories!
Thanks Dan! It was a great week to spray some paint. I'll be looking forward to your video. I got lucky to find the park brake signal the 650 tung sol flasher is super tuff to find. I really appreciate the valve covers and sure will use them. If you send me a address I'll send you the bumper guards no charge man I'll never use them.. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Looks awesome Don. It's all in your prep work. An you know this. The better you make it before the final touches such as paint or priming is how your end results turn out. An it turned out just like it should. Amazing. Don your moving right on along on it a little bit here an a little there. Don have a great week my friend. 😁👍👍
Looks great, we’re about to be doing the same thing to our firewall. I hope to have our newest 55 we’re doing done by Tri-Five Nationals next year to drive it.
Hey Big Don the paint job turned out awesome you will have to teach me how to paint a car at home, hey it’s better you were bent over than somebody else bending you over for that paint job, lol, talk to you soon Big D 😀😀
Hey Randy! Just have to hit the notification button and it'll alert to each new video. You'll have to click on my channel and find out where you left off. It's been a whole since I seen a comment from you. I'd say you miss a few videos. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Looks great Don is that single stage enamel and is that an old Binks gun? I have an old Binks Model 29 since the 70S still use it now and then???Came out real glossy good paint for sure....

Just under 1,000 pounds of pressure. Just kidding it was like 45 psi it's a old Devilbiss gun that takes alot of pressure. Good talking to you yesterday Buddy👍
Oh, the firewall pad. Think about why they call it that. Do you really want a fire? The firewall is looking good. Soon, you will have that motor and transmission in. Did you ever finish the floor? Curious minds want to know.😂
Thanks Harvey. Floors still need welded in the back. I'm starting at the front and moving towards the back. Just tired of having all the parts to the car setting in the garage. Later Buddy

My wife is very cool about what I do with these cars. Later Buddy
Just wondering what color you are going to paint the entire car?
Said in the video entire car will be the same black as firewall. Onxy black. Later
I would have had that paint all over everything but the car! How much air pressure was you running

Black??? Isn’t that bad luck for Weddings? You better ask you daughter if it’s ok.
I'll check with my daughter 1
Hey Don Think $300 is a fair price for a complete used brake light assembly!
300 if it's complete with all the correct pieces and flashing properly.
Guy does not know if it works or not, But the pix look good! Thinking about getting it for my 56 vert even though its a power glide!
@@sallystokes1277 I'd say go for it. It just might work
