When other librarians would shoo me back into the children's section, Mrs. H encouraged me to explore books I might not understand... yet. When I tried to shock her by checking out books on the occult, she never raised an eyebrow. And when I was in high school, she was still there, setting aside books specifically for me because she thought I might enjoy them; she was never ever wrong in that regard. A talented librarian is magical.
