Regarding ORE strippers, one thing left unsaid is they are far more expensive to buy than Strip Is or Strip IIs. Adding them to your ship dramatically increases your value without increasing your defensive or offensive capabilities. It makes you more of a target for players. Players who might pass up an Exhumer assuming it's too tanky to kill will risk going for you if they realize you have a much higher kill value.

They also have a substantially lower yield when compared to crystal-using strip miners on top of the problem you've mentioned. Situationally they might be useful for certain rare and high-value ores, but for general usage they seem like a sub-optimal choice, on top of being very expensive.

I'm a purely HighSec miner (mainly industrialist, but I do enjoy mining) and I'm not entirely convinced that B II crystals are worth it when compared to A II, even in a belt mining context.
Main reason for me is the price - you'd pay about 0.5mil ISK/pair of crystals (at current Jita price) more for the B II's than the A II's. Might not sound that bad but, because the B's also have much higher Volatility than the A's, you're looking at them burning out quicker as well, exacerbating that price difference even further. Since I mainly mine Veldspar and Scordite, I'm really not sure if I'll make that 0.5 mil ISK back during the lifetime of the Bs, when compared to the A version.
There's also the fact that, due to the higher residue proc chance, you'll have to move around the belt more, though I view that as a secondary concern.
Mind you, I haven't run the numbers yet, so perhaps I'm mistaken.

I had the ORE miners on my Mackinaw until I was not paying attention. I did not look for FOB & sent my drones to ATK the rats. After a drone died, I started looking and clicking and POOF!
ISK - easy come, easy go.

Totally agree I even enjoy the vids of subjects that I'm not really doing at the moment and while I mostly use ore strip miners it was because of his videos I use crystals. I always look forward to the daily content

A good use I've found for type C crystals is burning down the high-volume rocks in empire border anomalies that are on highsec islands.
Usually I have to send my alts in prospects out to those so I don't risk my hulks in lowsec, but prospects do not mine that fast and it's not worth mining anything but ytirium with them. So if there is a site left, usually the eifyrium and ducinium will be left over with 33k m3 remaining. You can use prospects and it will burn those down in a reasonable amount of time so you can get the site to respawn somewhere else in highsec.
Also helps when there is an ore anomaly in a system with a lot of gankers. If you can't safely recover the ore you can just burn it down so the site respawns somewhere else.

Deep Core mining in high sec is a joke. I just tried it for the first time last night and I was very disappointed. I drive a skiff and I was using Deep Core strip miners and T2 Simple Asteroid Mining Crystals for Pyroxeres and Plagioclase. Not only are the crystals expensive to buy, but they expire after a while- they're not permanent.
The biggest problem is that the residue is far too wasteful. I can fill up my hold pretty quickly with T1 strip miners. With the Deep Core strip miner and T2 crystals, I blew up 6 asteroids during the time I sat there and walked away with a mining hold at about 40%. At that rate, I'll empty the entire asteroid field and have very little to show for it. T1 strip miners should always be used in the asteroid fields. there's no payout for using mining crystals.

Great explanation, thank you! I used your skill point link. But if that guy offers to teach me to play piano one more time I swear I'm going to slam his fingers in that lid :D

I generally use Type A crystals, never tried the other ones.
I use them because i like to not have to boat around belts all the time, because other crystals burn rock fast.
But i may try it, just when going after specific ore i dont like to waste it
But thats just my opinion, i can use type b if i wish

How much you can win with an Exhumer Mining ICE in High per hour? Mining is very attractive to me to build my own ships since I like Factional Warfare and i run scalations, got and alter miner but I'm really noob in about how profitable that can be though.

I dont know why but tech 1 seems more better to use against tech 2. Can someone tell me why tech 2 with crystals are better when you are trying to mine the most?

They are not just stick with T1s till you can afford ore miners that is the meta ATM.
