Hey everyone today's video is an another video where we dive into some of the weirdest homes that people actually live in and these ones in particular are for sale for very cheap and still people refuse to buy. These homes are completely one of a kind and will never be replicated again, some of these homes are very small and some o these homes are actually mansions that span well over 10,000 square feet. Why the clickbait-y title? Just say "Inside Weird Homes"... that whole "refuse to buy" bit was unnecessary and misleading. The content was otherwise quite enjoyable; thank you for the time you put into your unique choices.

Yeah, i did still enjoy it, but it was distracting when he'd say how much each house just sold for and i'm like "what was this video called?" I thought they were reject houses--murder houses, haunted houses, creepy designs, idk... but it truly was just a 'list of unique houses'. IDK i think it felt like a letdown because it set an expectation first.@@LocozillaYT

The majority of these videos have misleading titles to get people to watch. I've gotten so I don't believe any of these titles.
I helped build Bonita Domes while attending CalEarth to learn earthbag construction. The home was built by consecutive classes as they neared graduation. It's so cool to see the finished construction.
Were you an intern working for free? That's a way to get a house built!
Edit: I'm sure it was a wonderful learning experience as well but it is a bit shady to get free labor ijs

@@vincentvangogodancer While taking a carpentry night class I learned that you can submit for having the Vocational School instructors build on property you own. Saw some of the finished projects from small ones like patios and garages to full homes, built at almost cost to help with education.

I couldn't have a mirror house where I live. Deer would fight themselves each year and break the mirrors. Birds would fly into them constantly too.
I have seen other videos of the Snail House, and wish you could have shown more of the interior because it's a truly beautiful organic home. The main bathroom is stunning in its mosaic design even for the basin. I personally would love to live in a home where you are walking among the plants on a walkway rather than a boring square, carpeted room.

I can honestly tell you there IS a market. I've bought the same house twice, because its round. And weird. I love it here. Made a secret door to go all the way around.
Casa invisible - how many birds does this kill a year?
Among the houses not mentioned is one of my favorites. Among the mansions of Hillsborough CA is a set of earthy domes visible from I-280. It was off-white for its first 20 years, then its owner had it painted dirty orange, earning it the local name "The Flintstone House."
I've always wanted "shooting stars overheard (over herd?")😉 The " Darth Vader House," does the doorbell play "The Imperial March"?
I think its "Over a Herd" as in animals in the wild where it's located!!

As someone who loves architecture and lives in a sort of unique house myself, i enjoyed seeing all the random styles and strange abodes

Mr. L: Believe it or not, price isn't always an issue. If it looks appealing to me, I will take it regardless of price. Besides, I have been wanting a nice guest house for some of my associates whenever they're in town.
Agent: It's nice that you decided to buy this one. None of the past prospective buyers were serious about getting this "Darth Vader" house as it has been dubbed by the public. That's why we're selling it cheap.
Mr. L: Good timing. Also, you don't mind if I do a little redecorating and a few renovation jobs to the place?
Agent: I don't mind at all just as long as the paperwork is in order. Just sign the forms and we have a deal, Mr. Luthor.

Water features in a home are always a bad idea. The home will be musty or moldy. We work so hard to keep things dry and mold free with shelter so water features are working against this fundamental goal of shelter.
Agreed. Having part of my house underground and being in a holler between two ridges both full of springs has been a real mold management challenge. Best solution has been central heating and trenches dug the back of the house around over the years.
Many years ago I delivered pizzas to a rich house. They had a indoor waterfall. It was absolutely stunning. I delivered there several times, they tipped well but the best part was seeing that waterfall.
The 'Saxaphone House' at 5:45... something's very wrong with it, if it's located in Berkley CA, and sold for UNDER a million dollars. There's backyard sheds in the Bay Area that sell for that price!

With my current housing situation I can't afford to be choosy. I really don't care if the outside looks weird as long as certain basic criteria of the inside are met: structural soundness, utility bills, room size, etc. Since I'm either going to be inside the house or going somewhere else, the outside appearance really doesn't matter to me. Things like vandalism, painted slurs etc. are different because that's a threat that might escalate into actual harm to myself or loved ones. But just a weird shape? Even if I was out in the yard, I wouldn't have to look at it for any great length of time. I'd be reading or gardening or doing something other than just sitting there looking at it and fretting over how weird it looks.

There’s a geodesic dome in Andrews, Texas that was built in the 70’s by the Andrews High School Building Trades class. It’s still being used as a family home today. I’ve never been in it or I’d tell you more about it!

That saxophone house in the Claremont district of Berkeley sold in May of 2023 for just over $1M dollars?! Wow! What a bargain! You can’t barely buy a garage in the S.F. Bay Area for under $500K!
When I lived in the Bay Area, I went through and around the Claremont area many times. I even found Rita Moreno's house. I am shocked that I never saw this house. Maybe I drove right by it on Grizzly Peak or Skyline Blvds. Its architecture certainly says "only in Berkeley."
@@elwoodblues9613 I’ve never seen it, either, and I lived in those Caldecott Apartments (Parkwoods; the ones that went up first during the terrible Oakland Hills Firestorm), and lived in Oakland and worked in Piedmont. It must be tucked up there somewhere above the Caldecott Tunnel or behind the old Claremont Hotel. I didn’t know the lovely Rita Moreno had a home in the Bay Area. That is interesting! I’m still shocked at the low price, cuz it looks like a really cool house!

Why show the Kirsch house on the thumb and then not even cover it in the video? I did enjoy the homes, but the title is also wrong as some have been sold.
As someone who needs a house, I see this as a total win.
These are some of the ugliest building I have ever seen and I would never dream of living in such bizarre places.

Truth is, I wouldn’t want to live in any of these, not just because of the excessively monochrome interiors. My father is in the building trades, and I work for a professional maid service… these things are very difficult to heat and cool because of their architecture. Most of them waste tremendous amounts of space and I can guarantee most of them are a pain in the butt to clean. Glass in particular is infuriating to clean. If you have pets or children, or or even a normal human being all that glass would be a nightmare of smeared windows.

I've driven by that "Darth Vadder House" in Houston and the first time I saw it I almost stopped in the street.😲. I Love that house and wish I'd seen inside it when it went on the market in 2021.. Thank you for adding it to this list.. I notice now, that when you go to google street view, the house is blurred😠, but you can still tell it's the house from overhead view.
What is that picture between the domes and the shell??? Is that the temple??? Cz that does NOT MATCH the domes if it is. Odd.
Not exactly the cottage of my dreams! I do love domes and tried to persuade my ex to make that choice. Cost effective, beautiful, peaceful, and attractive. However, some homes here in FL now look like office buildings overlooking the ocean. All glass and mirrors, a very dangerous escape in a hurricane, all sharp edges! The gorgeous designs and architecture evoking romantic dreams are now replaced by 'office building homes', which make you feel you should be at work. All glass, and a total eye saw with an absence of privacy. Like living in goldfish bowl. No cozy corners or reading nooks. Office hideaways gone. No thanks.

I might not want to live in most of these, as they don't really suit my tastes, but the Milton Sidney house is just repellent to me on every level. I do not want to live in it, I do not want to visit it, I do not want to even live near it. It is not a home or even a showpiece; it is the absolute embodiment of soulless Modern architecture, neither functional nor beautiful.
All the cache of cool for the dome home goes straight out the window when you see that its neighbors are literal motor homes and fifth wheels. All the cool just evaporates....
As architectural pieces, they are interesting. As homes, no. None of them are my style or "flavor".
Did you include the one from your thumbnail? I grew up by the Frank Lloyd Wright district near Chicago and I used to pass that house almost everyday on the way home bro. Always wanted to see the interior.

I used to live on Western avenue in Bethesda Maryland a block from the mushroom house.
It's on a side street about halfway between the circle at Massachusetts ave and the Hare Krishna monastery.

Ummmm ..... Just my 3¢... BUT.... As others have mentioned.... Why claim these are weird house's that No one wants to buy!?!?... Pretty sure you only mentioned two that are actually even "For Sale!!" Even soo I think the asking price disqualifies or narrows down the amount of home buyers even able to spend that kinda cash!!! As opposed to No one wanting to buy them because they are weird!?!!

Being from New Zealand a quake prpne country, half of these i wince at if a quake hit the area. Most would fall down like a house of cards!!

Some constructions are just that ,some are art , that’s architecture ,, some are fantasies ., not all that is constructed is Art ,only Architecture is.
Some of these houses are really neat, but I would never be able to tour any of them because I wouldn't be able to get my over-sized wheelchair in them.

Okay @kylemcgran you got me. I thought this video might actually be about weird homes that have been on the market for a long time, but in typical clickbait fashion only one of the homes was even for sale. I didn't watch the whole thing, so maybe more were for sale. Why not just title it, "Weird homes you want to see?" or at least tell us how long the property has been on the market.
Adobe is a natural build materials. It's not made out of plaster/cement.

Speaking as a residential electrician and plumber, you couldn't pay me to live in any of these piles of junk. Total waste of space and building materials, every one of them.

There is a lesser known (Mid-Century) Sarasota School of Architecture founded by the late Gene Leedy, that features something you might call a Florida roof: the roof itself is supported by visible steel beams, and underneath them there are series of windows, both for light and for ventilation.
You should check them out.
I'm mad at Gene for accepting a contract to replace a beautiful little Old Florida bungalow I once lived in with one of his designs. No contest, my old home was much superior. And historic.

Those are beautiful to be honest,if i was rich i would buy some of those for go trips to visit the places,and also enjoy some peace and quiet! Don't worry eventually a rich one will buy one or two of those,and with the rent you can put in those the owners can be also a little more richer am i right?!
To tell you the truth, while I appreciate the artistic talent it took to create these structures, I wouldn't want to live in any of them.
