What a terrific idea for tiny bonsais! It's such a perfect little miniature display.
a bonsai of a bonsai bench… Nigel, you are a pioneer of metabonsai! ❤ Next is a bonsai of a bonsai display, displayed at a bonsai show ;,)
This is my favorite project you've done yet, so stinking cute!
I love it!!! So inspirational. Thanks Nigel!
Definitely one for the books!.
I love this bench, Nigel! It is not a representation of "finished" trees, but the process we go through to get there. I love mames, but equally feel stressed by the effort to keep them watered in my hot and dry summers. Fortunately, I have only just started my collection, and this past summer was relatively wet, so they survived. A JM, an oak and a cedar. the pots are the next challenge . . . Keep dong what you do, as you are the best version of it that I have (never) met!!
Thanks Rebecca, I have some Japanese Maple cuttings that will get added to the mini tree collection!!
@@TheBonsaiZone I am looking forward to that one!💝
This is very beautiful and fun show.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but there is a very useful trick for keeping the super tiny mame trees from drying out. You put pea-gravel or small aquarium stones in a tray large enough to hold your mames (fill with the pebbles about a centimeter to two centimeters depending on your pots height). You can top with moss for double duty, but that's all! The roots may grow put the drainage holes but that's fine, just clip then off before showing. This keeps the plants from drying out and keeps them healthy, and it's also a great way to grow your own moss! This has really inspired me to make a little vignette with my own mames! Keep up th he awesome work! ❤
Good tip, learned this from eric from bonsaify
Thanx for this tip!
I don't have any mame yet, because I'm only around my trees four days per week...when I'm in town.
Now I may give it a go!
Nigel, you should do a Bonzai ASMR! Very calming brother!
I am sure people will love to explore all the details
That looks amazing! Really like that idea with all these miniatures and easter eggs, it's looking complex and fully complete!
Thanks a lot for the video and many new ideas!
Glad you like them!
You’ve recreated The Bonsai Zone. So many wonderful miniaturizations of the craft and work of bonsai! Really like the cat and bunny. More open space might allow the eye to take in the details of the setting more readily. Lovely illustration of The Bonsai Zone. Congratulations!!!🪴
Wow Nigel! Lucky people who'll get to see this at the show in real life, an amazing piece of art. I always felt like there should be a kid's book about Bonsai Zone and now there's a perfect illustration for it!
Thanks Izabela, I sure enjoyed putting this display together!!
I so agree!
Kumquat fruit is very good to eat, skin & all. Now that would be great to grow one tall for the fruit.
While not really being Bonsai, I know you had fun and this is what all hobbies are all about. Blessings to you and yours in the upcoming show.
The combination bonsai make us feel like you may play with them whole day during the room with fun😊😊
What a treat to continue and watch you perfect the miniature bonsai table, absolute perfection ❤🙌❤️🙌
I ❤️it! This is my favorite so far❣️👌
OMG. I just melted away when I realized it was a tiny workbench. aaaaaw soooo adorable. I haven't watched your videos regularly.. but I wanted to say that THIS is FREAKING ADORABLE!!! LOVE IT!!
I have to admit I had my doubts with the bench, but now I'm totally in love with this planting! Gorgeous 💚💚💚
It popped to my mind that I would like to have a little hook on the side of the bench and a small blue work jacket hanging there.
? Denim? 🤔
@@gayefanner731 Just some common blue collar work wear style jacket.
Ok, just so I can picture it ya know! 🤓
Some nice small specimens there Nige.
Meticulous work on the pines. Well worth it. Mini's looking great on your touch-ups. This is going to be a hit at the bonsai show. Excellent work!!!
Your garden is wonderful. Your expertise as a modeler comes to the fore. Wonderful to watch. Thank you for reminding us to have fun with this hobby. Again, I look forward to seeing it in the show. Please hang around it for a long time so we can see it in that context and hear the comments from the other exhibitors and the public.
That's awesome ❤🎉
Piece of Art Well Done !!👍
Prize worthy Nigel !
Excellent work
Thinking of doing this, I don't have space for a garden, so making a tiny one with plants, benches, paths and bonsai trees is just perfect hahaha
Quite lovely, Nigel.
Thanks Gary!!! I sure enjoy them!!
that arizona cypress was made for its place on your bench. very fun display and each detail brings so much joy!
Amazing!❤❤
your Arizona Cypress reminds me a bit of Charlie Brown’s little christmas tree! So I dub this juniper… Charlie Brown!
Love the finished tool bench
I am amazed by the time and Attention you put to the detail. Clearly beautiful results from all your work! Very creative
Really nice work on your mini bonsai bench, it's been a treat watching you put it all together. And by the way congratulations on hitting 200K subs you definitely earned it !!!
Insanely creative!
That looks absolutely amazing really good
Thanks Joseph!!!
Love it!! I want one too! 😍
Great job Nigel!!
Very artistic!! Love it❤️
Nigel, what about all the “fines” from your sifted perlite and turface? Why not use that instead of sand? Love the miniature bench! You should research some of the dwarf plant varieties for terrariums (usually found in big box stores just before the greenhouse section of the garden center area) I think you’d find something there!
I do mame alot plz remember shade and more then one watering a day in sommer if you use trays remember to trim roots so roots dont blok holes in pot and maybe use a spray to water the trees so you dont get dry spots in the soil
Nigel, your projects are so fun & interesting to watch. I really like this one, too. In the Chinese Year of the 🐇, the addition of the 🐇s are too cute & spot on! I’m eager to hear the reactions from the TBS participants. 🪴
Really like it. Great job.
That is really beautiful 😍🌹, thank you.
beautifull Nigel
I’ve been working on several Mame sized Bonsai lately. They are fun and actually different then larger bonsai to work on.
Yes, I really enjoy the small trees!!!
This replicate all your trees 😊 I like it 👌
Love it. Very pleasing, magical!
Thank for sharing.
Love the bench !! So clever !! The bunnies are perfect !
I love it!!
Thanks!!
👍👌👌
Awesome planting
Very cool…well done.
thank,s,go ahead
I love your pinging planting❤
This is amazing i love it, has been interesting seeing this one progress. I think it will be a hit at the bonsai show
I love the concept of the miniature bench and garden, my worry fir you is how your going to transport the whole without trees falling out of their pots, have you got a plan to get them to the event Nigel ? I do hope so. I think it can be more difficult to work with tiny trees than usual size bonsai trees a steady hand and good eyes needed, good luck with it all Nigel.
I love the stone in the front. They look great and make it look real. Don't think it needs any more background plants. Takes away from the bench plants. It is going to be a hit. You are so creative.
Hi Nigel, I think the tiny bench looks phenomenal! However, the boots seem like a weird addition to me. Who'd put/leave a pair of old boots next to their bonsai bench? I at least wouldn't like to step into them after a big rain fall :D as perfectly in scale they are compared to the bench, they lessen the overall picture to me. I just want you to win the show^^
A faux brick wall of some sort might make a good "background" for this. I think it might help keep your eyes focused on the scene and in the zone!
Love it! It's very creative and all the little details are giving it so much more depth and realism.
You bonsai-ed The Bonsai Zone! 😂
I bet the person that left those boots there is over at the manure pile in bare feet with a pink wheelbarrow! Tee hee hee... Beautiful Nigel! Beautiful!
I suspect you are on to something, there . . . !
💚
I really love this project. So miniature! The bunnies are a cute addition. Not sure the frog fits the scale though.
The frog actually reminds me of the concrete/clay frogs that people decorate their gardens with.
Sweet! It's been a while since you've put out an hour long video.
You've created a wonderful little world that's sure to be a hit at the show!
A small change I'd suggest is switching the pa and the grass. That grass is super cute, but hidden. Maybe that's on purpose. Lol
Also, the coco coir can be found cheaper at garden centers. Many cannabis growers use it.
How does it feel being my mentor, without knowing you are my mentor? Must be weird, ey? 😅
I sieve my bonsai soil, about 1 - 2 mm for mame. That way its got a bit of everything needed in there.
Omg just fold the roots up man!!! That root pruning was hard to watch 😅 and for pot's that small I basically hand pick every colonel of soil that goes into my tiny pot's.. I use the smallest akadama that's for shohin bonsai and the smallest rocks out of pee-gravel..
Nice, good idea to hand pick the soil particles!!
Please share the bonsai soil content
I think it’s kinda hard to focus on the trees, too much of a cluster. In my opinion less is more, but I know you had fun making it and people will enjoy looking at it, cool miniature trees too!
I want to add, instead of all the small trees in the background, it would have also been cool to maybe have a larger almost literati tree in the background shading the bench. Making it seem more like the outdoors, but then again that would draw away from the little trees
Большую сетку чтобы в ней не запутывались растущие корни лучше класть не в горшок, а под горшок, В горшок прямо на дно можно положить туалетную бумагу, через месяц она сгниёт.
Спасибо хорошее предложение!!
Pot in front on ground looks too big
You've never seen giant garden pots?
Nigel, you remind me of Andy Warhol. if your hair was sliver, you could be a dead ringer.
I'm missing the previous Einstein style every now and then.
Getting too busy, Bonsai is about simplicity and grace. This display bench is far from either. IMHO.
I think that's the point though.
He's got simplicity in the other trees he's going to show.
It seems more about fun with the hobby, innovation, inspiration and creating a mini replica of many people's back yard.
In addition...I'm not a fan of rules. Which is why I Love that this project breaks them all.
Art is difficult to judge I love it, so much going on is a great part of it to me. watch a Nigel's bench tour and that is the vision I see
Sounds like someone is using a router 🤔
A router is just a networking device that tells the packets where to go on a network. If you have the internet you are using a router. Routers used to always be seperate devices but now they're integrated into a single box along with the switch and other networking devices. It's just all been made smaller and more compact.
Point being, I suppose. Routers don't make a sound.
I think Mark is referring to the woodworking tool.
Mostly good but it's getting cluttered and over-thought. Pleased you took my suggestion of the boots from the doll, that helps with the scale, but the little animals nah. Also the blueish pot front lhs is quite wrong.
What if he just has fun?
I'm sure a majority of our benches look just as cluttered.
@@t3dwards13 Well quite, of course. I was just offering the kind of critique a show judge might come up with.
Less is more
He doesn’t get it ! ✌️
As George Orwell said "More is less", "Peace is War"!!
I do get it, if it were a simple display it would look like every other one you see.
I beg your pardon Nigel, I didn’t realise that was your motive. I may be wrong but I don’t think George Orwell said ‘more is less’ , well it wasn’t one of the Party’s slogans in 1984 anyway, like ‘war is peace’
@@TheBonsaiZone 😀🙃
The frog is too large for the display - sorry.
You may be right. 🤔🤔 It's almost as tall as the boots.
Yes if it's supposed to represent a living frog, but not if it is a frog sculpture.
