I noticed that some were thinking that this was a lot of wasted fabric, and it is if you look at it that way.. But, I am a beginner quilt, and this method is the FIRST method I tried as a BEGINNER quilter.. I LOVED IT... It was sooooo easy.. I recommend this to ALL NEW BEGINNING QUILTERS..... so fast and so easy... I LOVED IT... Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us...God bless...

Hi Mary, I totally agree with you! I have lots of 'wasted' fabric in unfinished quilt tops that have became too daunting to finish due to their complicated cutting and piecing techniques. Better a finished quilt than a half-finished one that zaps your confidence. Great comment, thanks for your perspective, I'm definately trying this!

Now that I have a lot more time thanks to the in-home quarantine, I think I'll use some of my late mother-in-law's quilting fabric & make some potholders for her granddaughters for Christmas. I have never quilted, but I have sewed for many, many years. This video is exactly what I was looking for, something easy & fast. Thanks!

Awesome. Funny, you don't look like the kind of lady who would be looking for fast, fun, and easy. I am most impressed. I'm getting too frail to maneuver whole bed quilt so I'm making pillows. I can't wait to make these all into pillows. I'm thinking coordinating outdoor fabric and throw pillows in all these different blocks all over the patio furniture. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I'm looking for more of your work.đŸ€—

Although I am aware of the "fusible grid interfacing" used in watercolor quilts, I never put the idea together that I could do a similar concept without the fusible. In fact, I never did this method because I didn't want the fusible in my bed quilts, although I would be fine with it on a wall quilt. You have really opened my eyes to so many possibilities using other geometric shapes as well; bricks, strips, even other triangles. It would be so quick to add a jelly roll on a diagonal, and fold and sew both ways for a big X block, etc. Your method is perfect for a beginner, or just anyone who needs to finish a quilt fast. I've never seen this before. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing!

The squares folded in is a genius idea... but the triangle corners is more work than just ironing a line, putting the small square right-sides together on the corner of the large square, sewing along that line, sewing ANOTHER line of stitching 1/2" away from the centre, and cutting between the two lines of stitching, pressing back the corner triangle. This way, you get a "bonus triangle" (a la Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville). No more work than her technique, but just "smarter" sewing!
