Something about the kitchen at churches man, like even this one I used to go to had the same lighting, metal appliances, and that weird window cutout. It was always empty and I used to have strangly comforting nightmares from it.
Demolition usually takes time because of paper work tax stamps contractors etc.. and if something in that process catches a snag it can cause the process to be very slow

it looks like to me that the church congregation could not afford the bill and rent of the church, and maybe the maintenance price was too high to afford. So the church congregation had no choice but to abandon the place or put it for bankruptcy.

That's probably why the power is still on maybe the Church leaders are still getting things ready to cleanup everything with in the church before it's get knocked down as some times when a building is gonna get destroyed they turn on the power so they can start working on getting it cleared out to get the project started.
