Thanks for the video. From what I’ve read here this should teach a lot of women not to move in with Men who don’t even see them as a wife just see them as a second mother.Who do everything for them and then some. My biggest mistake was not to marry my husband when he asked me to marry him the so-called Legal way.We did go down and sign papers back in the early 80s but now they said they can’t find the papers. He passed away in 2020 doing Covid. I live in Texas I have been denied by the Social Security Administration the lady was very rude from the beginning. She told me before we even did the application over the phone that I would be denied the lady at the SSA, the supervisor she said she was. I went to Legal Aid they haven’t helped at all. I like to know what my options are I will give you a call because I did a lot of years as a wife. if anything ever happened to my husband they would call me his wife. I hear some men say all a woman have to say is she was married.I asked you men this question what did you think people did before they came up with this Law with papers. When men and women moved into the same house they was husband and wife and they didn’t need papers.because they were real men back then.

That's wild so all a woman needs is one piece of evidence to say yes we were informally married. But the man has to be on his Ps n Qs to prevent his assets being split to somebody he never proposed to let alone married. The laws have to change.

Its complete fraud and corrupt. A man has to produce TONS of evidence, while a woman has to nothing (blantant double standard)...

How have we allowed Family "law" to grow to this outrageous extent. No where else in law can you "fall" into a contractual agreement. Legally there are required elements, that ALL must be present for a contract to exist.... 1. Capacity 2. Legality 3. Offer 4. Acceptance 5. Awareness 6. Consideration... 3-6 ARE NOT present as it pertains to so-called common law.

Let’s say that she moves in my house that I bought before we got married. We had a ceremony and we have rings but we never got a marriage license. Can I still be divorced and lose half my belongings or does she just move out?

Did she take you to divorce court?

That includes a few layers of legal questions, including is there an informal marriage (common law), if so what is the character of your home and how will your property be divided. We are happy to talk to you about the facts specific to your case, just contact us at 713-804-8071 or podcast@waltersgilbreath.com if you want to set up some time to chat more.
