London's food couriers under attack - BBC London

- We’ve all got used to having food delivered to our doorsteps at all hours of the day and night. But spare a thought for the delivery riders, because they’re frequently finding themselves the target of armed bike and moped gangs, who attempt to steal their delivery vehicles to use to commit further crimes. To reveal just how dangerous it can be out there, we armed some of these drivers with cameras. Chris Rogers has the story.

Heres an idea. The police drive around dressed as food delivery drivers. Problem solved.
Stop blurring out their faces; if they're "grown" enough to commit the crime, public recognition shouldn't bother them one bit.
Hate what’s happening to the couriers, love the fact they all stick up for each other and have each others backs 💪
imagine being caught trying to steal and saying “i didn’t mean it”
Acid attacks should carry a life sentence.

Feel for these young men , I was delivering for a big chain pizza company that was freshly entering the Houston restuarant market some seven years ago, this was In a section of downtown , and the range of delivery came into some warehouse run down sections . You had the very rich on high rises ordering , to run down old motels with families living in them . One small pizzeria down the street lost a manager in a hold up , then one of our own was held at gun point in a robber . It was this that ended that location .
Meanwhile a man was just successfully prosecuted for teaching his dog to do a nazi salute as a joke.
It almost looks like the MILLIONS of cameras are not preventing theft and other criminal activitys...
One has to wonder just how many of these "food orders" are genuine or just a way of getting the deliverers into a certain area. It seems strange that there's always a gang waiting just around the corner.
This is an excellent example of why I support the jury system. While technically illegal it would be very difficult to convict a delivery driver who defended himself.
I was in a cafe in London carrying out my work with my laptop. I was sitting close to the entrance to enjoy some sunshine. The staff came and warned me not to sit there because you get robbers coming with their bikes and grabbing your laptop and fleeing. Welcome to London, a real Gotham city without a Bruce wayne.
I hate this world, you can't do anything without someone else trying to ruin it.
And a lot of people think that Eastern Europe is dangerous. I delivered food on bicycle for 2 years in an Eastern Europe country and also delivered many times past

If some couriers start to hunt these thieves and "teach" them to stop stealing, the police will arrest the couriers...
EXPOSE THEIR FACES!!
Ive witnessed this too many times. They should be publicly made a mockery out of. Chained to a stage while we throw rotten fruits at them.
