I lost my cousin last year to the Darkside, aka addiction and overdose. I can't help but think of him every time i hear this song. That build up at 4:20 moved me to tears. Thank you for writing this song, it brings me peace despite the pain.

I just wanted to comment again. This album just builds and builds. Like a boxing match you are just setup for the knockout punch then this song just totally knocks you out. When I listen to the album all the way through I typically end in tears. Honestly I can't explain why....it's not a single line or lyrics. It's just the complete emotional heft of this music. It's so powerful.
I only saw these guys once live during ..the Black Sabbath The end tour.. I was most impressed. They made Black Sabbath sweat bullets that's how good they were.. and when they're leaving the stage the lead vocalist came out and says thank you and thank you for supporting rock and roll.. love this band😊
Bloody hell this song ages better than finest bottle of Ardbeg. Absolute diamond which manages to connect all the lines between the dots and more and does it with such an ease it's magical. Jay's voice is like rubbing finest velvet against ears. Scott's guitar also deserve huge thanks, because this song grows with every passing second. Guitar playing is just out of this world. Can't wait for album to arrive and to see you all in november. Rival Sons are unique and a real breath of fresh air in overly commercial music world and you stand tall with your unique sound.

Wow! This entire album is absolutely stellar....but the last three tracks and this final track are so intense and symbolic of the emotional chaos of the pandemic of everyone trying to stay afloat in the pool of crazy. Buchanan's vocal on this one is superb and that rhythm section ...can not wait to hear Lightbringer.

Literally gave me chills. It's amazing to hear a band totally go for it. Not holding back or trying to write 4 chord 'hit' songs. This album is just fantastic. Can't decide if it's better than Feral Roots, but it's at least as good.....which is saying something. To do it twice in a row. Also is it just me or do the last 2 albums have outstanding lyrics???? Just really personal and affecting stuff.

I think this was deliberately left semi ambiguous. It could be a man that after realizing he cheated on a loving wife and family for a temporary fling. To someone who lost his kids to a child predator and wants to murder the world. Just someone who was on the straight and narrow and for whatever reason is on a darker path.
