The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.

What a voice and performer. I see why Paul McCartney emulated his scream in so many Beatles' songs, especially Hey Jude. He always had a smile. He will be missed soooo much.

Must've been a Gospel show. He retired from rock 'n' roll in '77, and didn't return until '89.
