We danced to this song for our 50th wedding anniversary. We had all of our children, grandchildren and friends in attendance.
Whatever one’s preconceived notions are about country music, one thing’s for sure, it can hit you in the feels like no other genre.
That can be said with the other genre's also but I live country and I feel that it gets a bad rap just by a certain number of people and it's sad....they're really missing out. Gosh, the south is like they say...the wonderful southern charm and meaningful. Does anyone agree? My sister sang ever genre....but I think I loved the most is when she did country. And she had the voice of Karen Carpenter, sadly died at 38/hospitals fault and didn't get to do much with her special talent. So everyone, go for you're talent. I just couldn't rise above after she passed. I'm tryin...
Alan Jackson was my wife’s favorite country singer and this song was her favorite. Unfortunately she passed away in 2021 and I can’t listen to this song anymore without breaking down 😢
Sorry for your loss Jimmy. The tears mean the love was true. You can't miss what you never had. Take comfort in that.
I already can't listen to it without crying like a bitch. I can't even imagine being in your shoes. So sorry for your loss brother, I hope you can find healing.
I'm sorry. I lost my husband of 40 years 4 years ago. Music helps me grieve.
Sorry to hear that brother, I was already crying because of the song but that started making me leak, it gets better buddy.
I love Alan Jackson. He has over 50 top ten hits and 35 number one hits. He's a humble man with a huge amount of talent, and one of very few celebrities whom I think I could hang out with.
Those were Alan’s home movies. And that was his wife he was dancing with in the middle of the song….Alan is a genius song writer and a fantastic singer and performer.
NEVER LISTENED TO ALAN MUCH BUT LOVE THIS SONG.
Wow your face changed quickly when that song started. Beautiful to watch. I can't mess with anyone who doesn't experience that with this song. Thanks!
Omg...thank you so much for playing the video...I sent it to my son in law about 6mo ago....he's a daddy of 2, and my daughter was so overwhelmed and felt unappreciated; so I sent him this video( basically before it was too late)🤠🥰
@@jeffharry9675 he's taking her on 10 yr anniversary cruise to mexico🤗
Would recommend "Where were you when the World Stopped Turning?" also by Alan Jackson.
You need to do the live version that he did at the CMA’s I think it’s better because you get more emotion from his posture and facial expressions. That and when he was asked to sing this at the CMA’s they told him he would have to cut it down to 3 minutes to accommodate the tv slots/commercials. This was a huge argument between him the the academy he finally agreed then when it was time for him to go on stage he told the band and orchestra screw them were doing the whole song it was like 7 minutes long.
Thanks so much for reacting to this: May I suggest one of Alan's best songs "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" Stay well and take care!!!
i’m 53 now and me and my wife have been married for 28 years and i can relate to this song so much we have 3 boys one is 26 making his own life and the other 2 boys are in high school one is a Jr the other is a sophomore and time has went by far to fast so treasure every moment in life ! Btw i don’t think your human if this song doesn’t make you tear up a lil
He has a couple of other great songs featuring his family and looking back on life. Drive was dedicated to his father when he passed. The Older I Get will blow you away with the wisdom packed into four minutes. It also features lots of images of Alan’s life and career.
We played this song at my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party. Not a dry eye in the room.
Alan Jackson is one of the best there has ever been. I love the mandolin, and steel guitar. Love your reactions.
I had not heard this in a while. Beautiful. Made my eyes water. Alan Jackson epitomizes the best of country music. On a different note, my heart is heavy right now because I just found out that Lisa Marie Presley passed away today. She was rushed to the hospital where she passed. That‘s all I know right now. Prayers lifted up for her mother, Priscilla, and her kids.
Love Alan Jackson!! He's got a lot of great songs to check out whether you do reactions or not! 🎶💕
Another GREAT country love song to check out is Clint Black (and wife, Lisa Hartman Black) singing "When I Said I Do"! Such a beautiful song! 💕🎶💕 Please do a reaction to the official video! Trust me, it's worth it.
I was coming to comments to suggest "When I Said I Do"b💞🎶 Beautiful song!
I wasn't a fan of country music until the 90s. Now it's one of my favorite genres. It's music from the heart. Some of it is just about beer and trucks, but a lot of it really stirs the soul.
Love the music you bring to the table and your reactions are like 🍒s on top keep up the outstanding work darlins❤
another great and sad song by Allen Jackson- Blue ridge Mountain song
Alan's love song to his wife.
there are songs we should listen to in the quiet dark nights... when you are alone w only you and you get space to really hear... Blue ain't your Color (K Urban).. Death Row (Stapleton without Morgane), JT with Man of the Woods... Avi and Change on the Rise.. Billie covering MJ's Im Bad... Nicole Scherzinger running from "Buttons" to "Don't Cry for Me Argentina"...
When I was younger I also didn’t care for country music but I now find I relate to a lot of it; this song being one of them
'Making memories for something greater than myself.' Love that!
Alan is the man
You'll love it it not typical country!
Love your reactions. I finally realized that this song is about my wife and I as well. How wonderful that mom and daughter have such a good relationship here at Generation Gap.
Country encompasses all types of music, usually it is the artist that makes it country.
Beautiful love song
There are so many country songs you need to experience. Randy Travis "Promises" and "Three Wooden Croses". Merle Haggard "Hungry Eye", "Sing Me Back Home". Willie Nelson "Old Friends", "Blue Eyes Cryin In The Rain". Willie Nelson and Ray Charles "Seven Spanish Angels". Hank Williams "Your Cheatin Heart". Great reaction, ladies.
I'm 53, my wife 52. We were High School sweethearts. We've had lifes ups & downs, raised two daughters and now enjoy Two Grandchildren. In the end all we have are our memories. And I'm grateful to have so many to draw from.
A real heartfelt song of life...... One of my favorites.
AJ has at least 30 massive hits and a huge catalogue of great material.
This and “Sissy’s Song” are probably the two prettiest of his songs.
Absolutely my favorite AJ song, I’ve heard a thousand times but can never pass it by with out stopping to listen to it again.
Love and respect your reactions ,
@Genearation Gap- Country music is just the best and you will quickly fall in love with it. Remember When is one of my fav songs. A few musts reaction country songs you should try are Morgan Wallens Thought You Should Know, Randy Travis Three Wooden Crosses, and Billy Currington People Are Crazy
Wholly cow, BG; as soon as I saw this, I thought of the Bugs Bunny song, "Welcome to my shop, let me cut your mop" but then I realized that you just tucked it up. Really nice song.
Alan Jackson is a very talented country artist that lives by his morals. The woman he is dancing with is his wife, and they have never been married to anyone else. I would also recommend that you listen to another song that he wrote in less than an hour, sitting in a restaurant. It's called "Where Were You when the World Stopped Turning".
Love the mesmerized looks on your faces throughout the song... I suggest "Sissy's Song" by Alan. Very beautiful. Also based on Alan's real life.
Alan Jackson is one of the really good guys! Much respect for him.
Thanks for playing my request. I'm not a big country music fan either. But I've always loved beautiful music regardless of genre. Cheers!
At the end of the day, good music is good music no matter the genre!! always keep am open mind, good songs come from all walks of life!! I listen to all and am better for it!
Great analogy of this song!
You two would truly enjoy.." Don't take the Girl" from the amazing Tim McGraw! One of his earliest Hits..
The best songs are usually drawn from the artist's own experiences. Lots of emotion, passion in this song. He's another artist that has songs ranging from tear jerker to fun.
I think you should try 2 songs by Kieth Whitley. The first is dont close your eyes forever. The second is When you say nothing at all. Allen Jackson also has Where Were You. Another great song.
I l on very Allen been listening yo him for over 20 yes I was like 30 when I discovered hi. Now 63 never went back he is so Amazing you fhoumd hear ity bite and qwerty living on love Amazing songs
I am so glad you loved the song, Alan is singing about his own marriage and songs are almost always better when singer really feels the song.
I worked as a part time guest services/usher at the Tacoma Dome. Alan was performing one night, and I was placed as the stage right usher, directing people that would come up and take pictures and/or leave gifts. When he sang this song, I had the ladies who came to ask if it was okay to take his picture, and I would respond with a "Yes, you may." I received lots of hugs and a few pecks on my cheek.
Thank you for reacting to this. Alan Jackson was one of my Grandmothers favorites. When she past away a few years ago, I played this song at her funeral.
I would recommend Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning.
Beautiful song and video. I found myself becoming a big fan of country. I love the story telling and vocals.
You will find a tremendous variety of styles if you explore the country genre. Another song which might surprise you, among many, is Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind", offering a beautifully edited video and worthy message. Or how about some country from a Caribbean setting...Kenny Chesney "Old Blue Chair", great mellow vibe.
You can't go wrong with Alan Jackson... so many great songs.. sad, funny, patriotic, family
Wait until you get in to your forties, they were the best years of my life....we moved to Australia from England when we were in our early thirties (1983) I was 31 and my Wife was 28, we had two small children a Daughter of 6 months and a son of 5 years....now...nearly forty years later... I Iook back on our journey and marvel at what we did...no family, no home and we made it here in Australia...my forties were the best years of my life and now that we are retired, with our first generation Australian Grandchildren....I look back and marvel at the times that we had.... This is a beautiful song and a reflection of our life and times over here in Australia.... 🥰
You should also listen to Alan Jackson when daddy let me drive!
God bless you young ladys
i listen to a lot of different stuff from the 80s & up for the most part.
love to watch your emotion show thru! This is a story we all can relate to!!!
Love the straight face momma. Great job ladies.
Great song. This is sung at many country style weddings, as the Bride's first dance with her husband, then her father. It's a very touching song.
You should review the song, WHY NOT ME, by the Judds. The live version is the best.
Baby G's face is so expressive, I just love watching her. Now that you have discovered Alan Jackson, try "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn. Also try Allison Krausse "When You Say Nothing At All"
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. This song reminds me of the good life my wife and I had, and the ache still inside my heart today after her death, is worth the 25 years of being in love. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing! Country music is relatable because of the great story telling! It took me awhile to truly appreciate country music and everything it has to offer especially as I grow older! Love from Texas!!!
Patriotic Country song by Aaron Tippen 'Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Flys' is a great one to listen to or Toby Keith's song 'American Soldier'
livin on love and drive are two of his you would enjoy, also
Alan is great. He's come upon some health issues of late. God bless Alan Jackson.
One of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear
Cheers from The Land Downunder
A similar song is "Years" by John Anderson (music video). Very good stuff.
Sweet reaction to a beautiful song! Alan Jackson is a wonderful country artist and songwriter. For a younger country artist try Cody Johnson singing till you can’t! Another fun song that makes you think about how you’re handling your own life! My kids and grandkids love this song!!!
Alan Jackson is a great Singer/Songwriter 🤩
Try the song I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack. Great one. Thanks for another great reaction to a great song!
My goodness, girl!! I honestly thought you were still in your 20's!
I am so glad you coverd this song. Gives me chills each time I listen. Such a lovely, heartfelt, walk back in time. The orchestra was beautiful. You and your mom are adorable and I love to hear your comments and take on the lyrics.
Some of the greatest country songs are simple musically, because the song isn't about the music it's about the lyrics, great songs can touch a lot of people in different ways and is relatable to lots of people.
Another Good one from Alan Jackson "Drive" or a good emotional life story song: Jamie Johnson "In Color"
Also that's Alan Jackson's wife he's dancing with in the video and several of the young girls in the video are his daughters he has three girls.
Alan is a great artist. My favorite is "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" which also features Jimmy Buffet
Beautiful song. Thank you. I love your channel!
That's a song that I restart to listen after a broken heart.. 20 years ago! 😆 The song is so powerful itself. Tx for the react from Québec Canada 🇲🇶🇨🇦
Never heard this AJ song before but this is one I wont forget, one you might enjoy by him is called "Don't rock the jukebox" Have a good weekend ladies. x
Great reaction! Alan Jackson is a gifted musical artist, with some fun songs and some somber ones. Whatever mood you're in, he's got a song for you!
My mom's favorite two artists were Alan Jackson and Kenny Rogers. She passed away a few years ago and at her funeral we played Alan Jackson's version of Amazing Grace. Beautiful!
Alen Jackson. One of the best 💯
As you may guess, this song is used a lot in weddings, either is the first dance or entrance walking in for the bridal party, or entrance walking or exit walking out. He’s got a lot of other songs one of my favorites of his is called Live Like You Were Dying, beautiful song.
Alan is a treasure. Glad you did this...in spite of the dog poop! Peace, Love!!
You're all doing a great job thank you again.
I'm a huge metal guy and don't really like too much country music either, but there's just something about Alan Jackson that I love...oh if you really want to hear a great, but very sad song from him, check out his song "Where were you, when the world stopped turning". It's a song he wrote on the day of 911 attacks...made me cry.
Great choice from Alan Jackson
Alan Jackson is an amazing artist
Y'all did it now! ,, Had to tell everyone in house..I was just cutting onions...😁
There is so much more to country than what you described. That is one aspect of course, but there is so much more. And Allan has so many great songs. Two that you really should check out are MIDNIGHT IN MONTGOMERY, a tribute to the great Hank Williams. It is a beautiful song. The other one is. WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE WORLD STOPPED TURNING, a tribute to 911 tragedy.
This is what country music is not the pop-country that is played today. The high pitch strings is a mandolin.
Good country tells great stories and hits you in the feels. Slow dancing the night way.
Others; Brooks and Dunn "Believe", Rascal Flatts "Skin", Thomas Rhett - "Die A Happy Man", Lonestar "Amazed", Faith Hill "Breathe", Tim McGraw "Don't Take the Girl", Tiny, Tiny sampling. Enjoyed the reaction.
Loved your reaction! It's such a tribute to his wife in love. I can remember when... he wrote this as his gift to her. I followed him during the beginning of his career. Love his singing. Brad Paisley is another who is a unique country singer. Whiskey Lullaby was a big hit for Brad, but it is a sad song. Then he has the fishing song, I'm Going To Miss Her. I hope you react to them. Thanks, you two are adorable!
You should try "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning". Another classic story song by Alan Jackson. He is the best at those!
An emotional journey. Glad you enjoyed it.
Where were you when the world stopped turning is one of my favorite songs
(Class of 71) "May,I..have this Dance!"🤠
I never cared much for country music, in my youth, but as I've gotten older I appreciate it more and more. The themes are generally pretty feel good, wholesome themes, God, country, romantic love, etc. Country music tends to tell a mini-story within the song about one of those themes.
Here is a song you might want to do; nobody has even reacted to it: The Roches "Hallelujah Chorus"
This is biographical. Most of the words are his own. That is his wife he's dancing with. And their 3 daughters are briefly shown in the video. When Alan references a broken time, their marriage came very close to ending. Thank goodness that they found each other and actually today their relationship is stronger than ever.
Well I would hope that’s his wife lol
Alan, a true country singer.
