- This is a video review of the Fimi X8 Mini, a 4K sub 250g drone. My review is kind of in the middle of the fence. It's not a bad little drone, it has many good features and flies well. The video quality does need a little work and hopefully, Fimi will be able to correct some of the issues with a firmware update. This video features footage from my first flight and full 4k video samples.

Nice video as always. Not being sub 250 g right out of the gate is an issue! I do like the FPV readout with the grayed out area that makes reading telemetry, battery levels etc. easier to read. Hopefully DJI IS paying attention and will improve their FPV viewing. Thanks Shawn!
I have been waiting for this video, i got the mavic mini and i wanna see what is different with this drone.
It is going to be really difficult to dethrone DJI, but I am glad they have some competition with the Fimi.

it does have more features, which adds value, because to get them on the mavic line, you have to spend $1600 cdn..so it looks like a winner, compared to dgi & other $300-$600 options

i also have that vignetting in my fimi palm (1st gen). looks like fimi cameras have that issue.
Hello Friend, im having troubles connecting the Fimi x8 mini to my desktop. The desktop wont recognize it when i connect using USB cable. How can i download the recordings? Thank you!
Looks like the range sux, only 550m(1800ft) when the signal got crappy and he stopped the flying segment.

Yes I have watched some of your videos, that last one with the gimbal was crazy. Looks like DJI put the last nail in the coffin for this drone with the SE. Hopefully the hubsan mini is a little more refined

I’m glad you got a good one, mine was bad from the beginning, and after a few firmware updates it won’t even fly anymore. And Fimi customer support won’t replay to any of my messages. Good first flight and review, I wish continued good luck with it.

Sorry to hear that. So far fingers crossed mine has been performing adequately minus a few small video issues. Fimi needs to get there act together they could really have a good contender. Hopefully the Zini mini doesn’t disappoint when it arrives.
The Mini 2 is better, but compared to a Mavic Mini this might be a good alternative for the additional flight modes.

This can be bought with a pro battery that weighs less than 250g.
Compare this to the mini 2.
Whilst I welcome any credible competition to the drone market , Fimi needs to up its game and launch a drone that doesn’t suffer the same issues as all its previous drones.
I expect the same issues from Hubsan , again if your going to give us something to compete , give us a product that works as it should and at a good price point.

I think if someone was going to charge you with being over 250g they would need to have a well calibrated set of scales...5% leeway would be in limits...let's get real 8 or 9 gms is not going be much of an issue...

2 flights in 30 days?? Its been in Canada since mid April. But I have to say, your spotlighting effect is by far one of the worst I have seen.
I’ve had it for 30 days but I haven’t gotten around to using it. I have a whole shelf full of stuff vendors have sent me to test and review I get backlogged sometimes
