- Traps, traps, traps. Cannot stress that enough. Traps are one of the strongest tools Aloy can utilize for these challenges. All of these Arena videos were just of the first time that I completed them, displaying multiple errors to show that you don't have to be perfect to beat these, even on Ultra Hard. DEUCES!

The trap did it, but I did a little different, made 4 porgewater elites, as soon as I started, i ran to ravager, smoke bombed and places 3 next to him, then repeates this a second time, saved all amo for thunderjaw, also a elite acid.
You make it look so easy 😭this is the only arena fight I have left and it's driving me insane. I try tying down the thunderjaw at the start cause I have no chance with the scorchers one shots and keeping track of a thunderjaw but often I die within seconds of entering the ring. It takes longer for me to craft the traps than I spend alive 😂
Oh trust me, I understand completely. Smoke Bombs are your friend and will allow you to lay traps. If you do so close enough to both machines, they'll hit both of them. I just bomb spam with the blastsling against the scorcher until it's dead and then corrode the TJaw.
@@EternalWindTWR I finally did it! I'm only 30,000 shards lighter but got there in the end lmao. I ended up focusing more on bombs than traps as I found myself getting blown up through mistimed dodges but the acid trap trick was a godsend! I didn't know you could change them at the start so thank you for that!

Ya I've completely run out or shards. Between being constantly stun locked, one hit killed, and bounced around between literally 4 different attacks at once...i just cant do it . The arena really highlights the issues in the combat. Ya ya, get better. No, how about the game give me a second to get up.
@@dontswitchoff607 what I ended up doing was creating a save when I still had plenty of shards and after every few failed attempts reloaded that save and started again. That way I didn't lose too many shards. It is possible but kinda feels like half of it was luck.

Can you detail your equiments (armor and modifiers), the types of traps used and their number, the quantity of smoke bombs used (at starting the challenge we have only 2)
Once you beat it once, you oddly enough get access to more equipment when playing these again. I really don't know why they did that, but the gear is the same as when you try it for the first time.

I honestly found the Tremortusk one to be more difficult, but I definitely understand. Use traps, traps do wonders in the arena.

@@jedimindtrick75 Trust me, I know exactly what you mean as that's the exact problem I had with the Tremortusk one!
Try making 4 purgewaters elite, eun up to ravager and smoke bomb him, place 2 or 3 next to him, repeat this. 4 purgewaters will kill him 100%, the rest is 1v1 with thunderjaw.
Idk for you (idk if it was changed in later patch) but I just did the challenge and I had no acid trap at all, so I swapped the sunwing call for one and craft them, but I was wondering if you had to do the same? (seems like your acid traps were where thr overdraw potion was)
Yeah you have to pretty much switch them out. Same as what you had to do.

You make this look so easy. I've tried dozens of times and can get close to finishing it but i always end up dying. The crafting at the start is so annoying and then i'll usually die immediately. I also don't get why i get spotted by the machines almost immediately after the smoke bomb too....
It's part of it unfortunately, you'll always get spotted as soon as you leave the platform. But I know exactly what you mean, makes retrying super fucking annoying having to recraft everything every single time you fail.
@@EternalWindTWR I meant get spotted right after using a smoke bomb. Don't know why lol. Even if the machines are not facing me. I try the challenge a few times a day after work and put it down because i'm getting to annoyed with it lol.
@@TheStevedie Now that I don't know, but once you have used something in your smoke it will aggro them. But trust me, I know what you mean. Some of these are quite annoying.
@@TheStevedie I think I can explain this: If you hit one of the machines after the smoke bomb it basically negates the stealth you entered, at least on the harder difficulties. If you don't hit them they don't see you for a longer period of time. This allows you time to place traps, drink potions, etc.
I played this on very hard and there was no option to craft corrosive traps or purge water traps, only bomb traps 🙃.
It's stupid, you get the option once you have already beaten it. Who cares at that point, right? So dumb. Any trap will help though.
How do you have different armour on? I'm stuck with default Tenakth armour of some sort 🙃

wish traps were more useful outside the arena but they are sooo expensive
Yeah they really nerfed them from Zero Dawn. They were overpowered as shit and easy to utilize in the first game so unfortunately I feel like they went a little overboard in nerfing them in terms of the cost to craft and trap limit for Forbidden West.
@@EternalWindTWR trap limit i think was a good idea, stops people just littering a spawn point (well actually not completely ive seen players still do this with the limit not stopping it) but the cost is ridiculous, you dont get anywhere near the amount of shards as reward to cover the cost of using them and it just results in me pretending they dont really exist which limits gameplay
@@eKko0 Yeah, it's crazy. I used them so much in ZD, but I hardly ever even think of them in FW.

It is definitely going to be harder, but certainly not impossible.
Arena... The only place where traps are viable... They are USELESS anywhere else, literally. And the focus of the last 5 rounds of each Arena Challenge is always focused on them. Without traps, especially on this Apex Predators matchup, you are screwed. I can finish the Scorcher in 30 seconds on average, but the damn Thunderjaw has so much HP, its like I'm tickling him to death... Unbelievable the weapon loadout they gave us for this.
Yeah, the load out is ass. I wish we could use our own. Damn leaderboards. 🙄
