Hey kev hope it goes 110 mph that would be sick
if you have a mig welder, extend the mig wire out enough to wrap all the way around the tire, then give a quick "zap" to create a circle around the tire creating your own steel band. Have a spray bottle of water handy so as soon as the mig wire is bonded together, cool it so you only get a blister on the rubber.

Don't forget to balance your tires Kev. It makes the world of difference, even on a 6s basher. It turns a wobbly vibrating mess into a precision model, and also reduces the loads on the car.

Kev, I'd fit spacers behind the monster truck wheels so you can machine those to fit without loosing weld strength on the wheels.

Excited to see that rotary engine. As for the hubs might just be a lot of extra work/cost to machine them from scratch. Trailing arms for off-road race trucks (think Prerunners or trophy trucks) can easily cost $4000+ for a set of billet aluminum ones. I would recommend you do some research on different grinding pads that can cut the grinding time down or even look into being able to gouge material off

I think an aluminum or carbon fiber brace coming from the front to the back would do so much to help the stability and also make it so that it's not rubbing its belly against the grass every time it hits a bump losing power and speed every time
good idea, surprised he hasn't thought of that himself with all the braces he upgrades on arrmas. it's gonna be a huge brace, maybe a shower curtain rod will be big enough lol?

Kevin, how about using rubber o-rings to band the tires? Alternatively, go for large metal c-clip retainers and grind off any high spots carefully.
Hey Kev! loving the Monster truck looks amazing! the exhausts, they look fantastic but if you roll it or come into contact with something from the side or loose a wheel snap a hub as I love Monster Jam and "that tour is Brutal" if cylinder the are alloy I think it could mash up your manifolds drillings to the head that could be "game over" for Game over, would it worth keeping the exhausts out of harms way inside the roll cage and exit behind the cab pointing back wards slash cut, it could look great especially if you have unburnt fuel spitting flames as it does. sorry if some has mentioned this already I just would want to see damage to the engine as the exhausts are so short with only a rubber anti vibration grommet to aid protection or rigidity it makes the week spot close the the heads mate.
Maybe fishing trace wire might work on the tires ,no knots you use a metal crimp instead...very very strong and much easier to put on...possibly lol...dave..

Maybe metal beadlocks with nuts on both sides of the tire(inside and outside on inner and inside and outside on outer side of tire) or Maybe so INSANELY STIFF foams inside belted tires. Or I've also see where people have used thin metal line instead of fishing line and put it through the knobs of the treads amd then u could glue ot just for extra security. Just some ideas to toss around

Those wide heavy wheels and soft tyres are not gonna cut it . At least put cable toes around them. Also a chassis brace would help as you have a floppy sausage.

Once again Kev, the ballooning gives you more speed, gotta figure out a max diameter of the prolines and put something tougher close as you can get to that size, another trick is to remove tread to lighten the tires.

Your engine and exhaust expands and move when they get hot. If the exhaust mount dont move with it, it can cause tension and things can crack.
Could you fill the types with gap foam like they use for fitting double glazing?

Hey Kevin, put tiewraps on your wheels, put them across the tires in 3 places instead of around the tire. Can't come off and quick to try.
What I'm thinking for the tires is get a steel wire and wrap it in the middle around the tire and twist it or solder it so it can't unwrap. As it's in the center of the tire thread the tire won't be able to expand and will hold together. If that fails try to get a steel or aluminum ziptie and wrap around and solder the two ends together. That will surely work I think. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Doing the bult sticking out from the rim design won't work. To much force will rip the plastic wheel apart and send bults and nuts flying into space.
Something you can try though is to find a steel bottom of a can that is a press fit on the tire. Put that on and then you can add tiny screws from the inside of the tin can so it's like a snow tire almost. and glue the tin can to the tire that way you still have some flex but not a whole lot and as long as you keep the screws to a decent number I think it will work :)

How about filling the tires with expanding foam? It would permanently secure the tire to the wheel and give it structural integrity, so it will be less likely to balloon but still provide cushion for the rough terrain.

KEV!!!!!! What about adding another two sets of wheels from another traxxus on the sausage? It would easily clock 700mph
Maybe try to wrap tires with connected zip-ties its faster than fishing line and more solid and the "heads" of zipties will give more grip I think.
I'd probably try 2 stainless zip ties per tire and put the clasp on opposite sides to try and keep some balance. Easy and fast to put on and take off to give it a try.
At 100mph that would destroy the suspension with the huge centrifugal forces and inevitable inbalances
You could work on better coupling the front wheels to the rear. Obviously load shifts under acceleration, so the front ones spin up like crazy and blow.
Maybe try and make a real drive shaft or gear the front just slightly over 100 mph so can't spin that crazy.
It's wonderful ~~ It's a birth fall that no one can think of.
Try some proline beadlocks belted rims and tires and them tired are NOT going to blow. I tested it on my truck, didn't blow up. Broke my differential in the process but the tire didn't blow.
And if u want them to not move for sure glue the tires aswell but that will ruin the beadlocks but might be worth it.
What about taking them and dipping the wheel and rim in flexseal or an equivalent
Hi kev, you almost hit the speedrecord👍 if i where you i would put a bit weight on the car front and rear maybe starting half a kilo front en rear? I think at high speed the car loses contact with the ground making the tires pop i think you can go faster by adding weight. Good luck

WIth the solid aluminium wheels: you can tig, tig on some aluminum studs, put it on a drill and balance them.

i think for the sausage you need an inflatable tyre, inflate it to a high PSI, so you could get something off a scooter or something maybe? that'd reduce the high levels of friction that i think is what's causing the tyres to blow out, should help the walls of the tyre keep their shape at a total guess
Bolt the rubber on those custom aluminum wheels. Use pan heads and heads won’t stick up further than the rubber studs.

Solid mouth exhaust is ok with a solid mounted engine especially with how short the system is
I've never had a fishing line tire fail. You have to quickly rub some emery cloth down the line to key it, then just glue away.
It's very easy and robust in my experience.
kev, when are the red beadlocks for the monster truck coming? in the concept art from a while ago, and the more recent concept art you had for it before the full wrap was revealed, it had red beadlocks. just wondering if those were just concept art, or you actually had those on order

what you need is a tire company to step up and make you special tires that they know wont explode. Also i think that hou should try either using dual shocks on all four corners or use a heavier shock oil so maybe you will have less wheel movements up and down
