I feel you on the hospital nurses and blowing veins. I was in the hospital for 9 days. My arm was hurting so bad that I went without IV fluids for 3 days because they kept missing the vein. I requested a Phlebotomist because they draw all day. They got in with no problem.
I also notice the obvious lack of lesbian and transgender representation on RHOA. We know Kandi is probably bisexual but these gay friends they trot out like accessories are usually cis gay men. Nothing wrong with that but I hesitate to give them full props for LGBTQ+ allyship. Just saying 💁🏾

I didn't see the show so I don't know how Kandi looked, but this is exactly why I wear minimal makeup, if any. Lol! I don't want anybody noting the differences if my with and without.
Ashley, as someone who has gone through major surgeries as well as chemo, I agree with you 110% on some nurses being incapable of correctly taking blood or inserting IVs. I have been blamed more times than I can count for having small veins, veins that roll, being too skinny, being dehydrated, having difficult veins, etc., It got so bad one day in the hospital that I had been poked 11 times. Yes 11 times! I started crying and had a full on anxiety attack. I refused to let the nurse poke me anymore times and she got upset with me and then I was told I was difficult. Now she couldn't hit my veins because I was too tense and difficult and somehow that made my veins difficult too. They were playing games, didn't you know. I now know after 2 pokes to assert myself and say stop. I ask for a special IV nurse and if that's not available or he/she misses too, I hold out for an anaesthesiologist. That's how traumatized I am and how bad the situation has gotten. Yes, my medical issues have resulted in my veins being used a lot and some being blown out, just like you said. However, I'm not alone in having some bad veins and a difficult medical history and these nurses need to be aware of how to treat us properly. Sorry for the rant.
Ashley this is a nationwide problem! These techs do not know how to draw blood! There are two ladies on youtube that are good teachers one is a nurse and one is specifically does phlebotomy. They need to go around the country. I had to watch videos to explain to these fools how to get the draw. The er and critical care nurses can usually get it. Idk what I would do if I had to be in the hospital.
