Hello, a common error @4:53 people seem to think B is more motor braking - like in a Full electric, for regeneration. This is not true. This is engine braking. The engine trys to slow the car more in this mode through it's gearing. Why? Because going down a hill, a big hill, or a hot day the brake regen system will overheat. The manual describes B as "applying moderate engine braking driving down hills" if you think this isn't true, consider this, the manual says "to improve fuel efficiency and reduce noise, shift the lever to D" This confirms 2 things. "reduce noise" = the engine is higher RPM in B to slow the car downhill, engine braking. "improve fuel efficiency" if B was more aggressive motor regen it would be the most efficient mode. D is the most efficient mode.
Hello thanks noted that, other people also commented, will know for the future 😀
However B mode is meant only for long downhill tracts, using it in all the other situations is everything but efficient
Yes you are right few people also mentioned it thanks 😀 will know in the future 😀
I love it! Everyday I love it more 😻
Great Review, I never jt snowed so much in Croatia 🏴🏴🏴
Thanks :)
Yeah it was the only day of snow this season
Do not use the B Mode it’s making unnecessary strain on the engine. And doesn’t recharge your battery like it does in D. It’s for going downhill (a very steep one) B stands for breaking mode. It breaks on the engine in a simulated way. Always drive D mode it’s more efficient and healthier for your car. The hybrid is smart enough to make the most out of fuel economy
yep had few more comments like that thanks to all of you I know for the future now :)
No worries! Love your videos! Just wanted to mention for people out there 😁
👌💪😀
B mode is good per snow.....B mode and eco mode is good in my prius
@@cyberys no it is not
Another interesting insight into this car. Good to see how the car handles in the dark and wintry conditions. I also would like the wrap around ambient lighting but looks pretty neat as it is. I am not a fan of the lane assist as my car has one that alerts me when I am actually in the lane! (Must be a fault with the road!)
Thanks 😀
The car looks great, drives swiftly, is spacious and has more to offer........
I love this car♥️
This is a useful auto, environment friendly.
yep :)
uk 10 warranty as long as you use toyota for service and 15 year on battery which is very very good
How about headlights performance in empty roads?
Thank you very much. I will buy this car so the test really helped.
Glad it helped:)
Just beautiful no words it’s very beautiful waiting for the same one 😊
In two weeks i get my own little Yaris! Executive model in Platinum Pearl White. Cant wait
Congrats 😀 enjoy the drive once it arrives 👍🎉
I have bought one of these and expect to receive it in a couple of days. I was a little disappointed that I hadn't ordered one with the Heads Up Display. Having seen this video, I am now glad, because I think it would irritate me when I am driving---I hate having paper and things on the dashboard under the window as it distracts me from the road.
@@philipmarsden7104 I thought that as well, but it is super nice and its not in your line of sight. Im happy with it.
@@SteadyPetesFPVquadracing But it would be in my peripheral vision and I like a clear windscreen. I'm definitely looking forward to it, with or without the HUD!
Sounds like a old plymouth valiant! Not bad.
Great review and a lovely car. Very sporty looking. :-)
a view from the UK. Great Video I'm thinking of getting one.
thanks for watching and cheers to you in UK :) It's really a great little car:)
Most of the commentating is wrong, please educate yourself by reading a manual before explaining what is what.
B mode is not for stronger recuperating. The recuparation is exactly the same on all modes and depends on brake application like this:
Release gas pedal-light regen
Medium braking-medium regen
Hard braking-full regen
Remember you have to be up to speed for this to work.
B mode keeps the engine revs high in order to increase engine friction. You engage B mode only on long downhills in order to preserve your braking pads.
B mode increases fuel consumption by a lot if used in city driving.
Hello, thanks for the info someone mentioned that also and I did take notice and will explain it that way in the future :)
And speaking about the B mode on fully electric cars, do the same rules apply? Because lot of people drive EV’s only on B mode in the city for example
@@crospotter13 You are correct about EVs and their b mode. The extra deceleration produces energy that is stored back to the battery.
The thing is that in Toyota hybrids in b mode even when the engine is off there is much more deceleration (as you showed) i think it comes from the traction motor mg2 directly but the energy is not stored back to the battery.
@@theredbaron7302 so for EV's it makes sense, but here the B mode should be used on longer downhill sections if I'm not mistaking?
@@crospotter13 Yes, unfortunately they dont offer a one pedal equivalent for city driving.
@@theredbaron7302 Thanks for the useful info mate
What is gas mileage? And tell me all the opinions and packages you could have?
10 years battery warranty is only if you check it regularly with Toyota. Otherwise it's 5 years.
Toyota claim that this car can drive 80% on electric mode till 130KM of speed on E mode but I could not see this in your video, Could you please let me know about it and also say how noisy is 3 cylinder Engine VS 4 Cylinder ? Thanks
Well it can but you should be easy on throttle, I was accelrating that’s why it wasn’t. When you reach 100km/h for example you will get electric motor only again, and in many situation you will be able to drive only on electric power.
Didn’t notice that it is noisier than 4-cylinder, and overall noise is improved (you can watch day POV drive on my channel where I went on highway)
@@crospotter13 Thanks for reply . Do you know in cold weather, when you turn on engine,Heater works on battery or with engine warm air ?
@@1120Farhad hmm not sure about that, but it did turn on the engine when I entered the car and put the blower to max before the filming so maybe with engine but really not sure
@@crospotter13 Thanks for your nice video.Inside and outside car is beautiful exceptionally with new dynamic force engine and new battery.I bought a design model in blue but will receive it on 06 Jan.
Regards from Switzerland
@@1120Farhad nice :) I did a day POV with blue one, Cobalt Blue, is that the one you ordered? :) Here is the link: czcams.com/video/39ISCrRSZIc/video.html
Good test and nice car. What was the fuel consumption in that test?. Thanks
hello, thanks :) Official number is 3,2litres and in this drive it's around 4,8 litres, but it was cold, short and bad conditions. In reality could be better than that, so very efficient (more powerful and more efficient than previous one)
Does the Yaris Hybrid use regenerative braking to charge the battery?
Yes!
And i have the car and i am very satisfied! 🚗💨
I spent weeks to see review this 4th gen Yaris but FWD only new three cylinder 1.5 dynamic force motor non hybrid + CVT first gear
Thing is, such a thing are nowhere to find
A VERY good car - can't wait for mine :-)
Amazing car ..........OMG
Really nice and smooth car. Waiting for the Yaris Cross. How much was the consumption?
5:30
In witch mode ("B" or "D") you can recuperate more energy during driving? In "D" mode you recuperate less energy, but longer because you can roll longer. In "B" mode you recuperate more energy, but roll is much shorter.
Did you (or somebody else) see that difference on longer terms?
Thx...and great review btw !
Thanks :) I noticed that B mode is good for drive between traffic lights or downhill sections. But on for example longer flat section doesn’t make sense because it will just slow you down and you will need to accelerate again, so it all depends on the terrain 😀
Thanks for the comment 😀
@@crospotter13
Thx! Your test day was only snowing day in Zagreb...great 😁😁
Yes 😀❄️❄️
B mode is meant to be only used for descending steep hills as it provides additional engine braking - its like engaging a low gear in a non hybrid manual / auto. B mode shouldn't be used in normal driving as its less efficient on fuel.
@@leepower2717
Thx 😉
Bad use of B mode...but nice video and nice car otherwise
The price in your country is much cheaper than in Belgium (24000 EUR).
Netherlands 26000
Too bad the ambient lighting does not light up when driving.
Congratulation for video
Thanks 😀
сколько заявлен срок службы батареи? годы, км....?
How's that premium stereo?
Hows the road noise while driving? Also did this car had the same door closing sound as in carwows review?
noise isolation is pretty good, here you can see the drive on highway during the day: czcams.com/video/39ISCrRSZIc/video.html
speaking about the sound of the doors, didn't notice anything strange.
0-100 kmh in how many secs?
9,7 😀
Hi... I have the same car :-) but only 2 days :-D
Nicee 😀 How do you like it?
Did you choose this spec?
why u drive on B mode? B mode is Brake mode it make ur engine work more, useless and definetly not worth if u are not on a downhill
Yep few people commented and it’s true I know now thanks also for info mate 👍
@@crospotter13 no problem i have this car like its a month now and i can reach 30 km/l that is 3,3 l / 100 km and also i love the power mode and its 9,6 sec 0-100 its so smooth and the autopilot level 2.5 that allow u to take off ur feet and ur hands from the veichle, i love this car
@@freddy8413 awesome to hear that :)
why cange d to B
It’s just for downhill section my mistake
You shouldnt be driving it on B mode :P
yep discussed in comments before, I realised that it's only for downhill on this hybrid :) thanks
3:20 wait, that’s illegal
Sounds like a old crysler six whith bad automatic
is it too much small car
It’s more comforatble and more spacious inside compared to the previous one, but of course nothing too big as it’s a small city car
Heyyy
Good. I wait for love from you 💝💖
