It's been a long time since my last Gatwick video, and this time I decided to try something different, filming while Runway 26L was in use instead of the usual 08R spotting. This meant I would be filming head on rotations - I decided to limit it to late rotations only, including mostly all widebodies barr 2 planes, an A321 NEO and a Boeing 737.
I do recommend turning up the volume! Some of the planes in this video sounded amazing to say the least, especially the BA 777's, those GE90's working at full power are always mesmerizing to the ear.
This video also includes an Airbus A340-600 of Virgin Atlantic, sadly operating its second to last revenue flight. It returned back into the UK from Bridgetown and has been phased out of the fleet. This would likely be my last ever time seeing a Virgin A340 fly
I hope to get back to Gatwick again before the summer to film when 08R is in use, I personally prefer it that way. If you enjoy this video then feel free to leave a like and comment below

The Virgin 747 landing at 1:05 looks bloody amazing, with the added bonus of Thameslink trains crossing in the background!
9:00 I like the aeroplane with the class 377 in the background.
I'm wondering what Gatwick is like now! this footage is from early march this year and now there are quite a few changes, what with virgin leaving the airport, even ba where threatning to leave, and the 747 bieng retired making this video almost historical, an exellent video though , makes one feel quite nostalgic, all under a year and all this change, covid did happen very suddenly!!
4:40 turn up your speakers to the max!
Those GE90 sounds never get old :)
Lol I was on the plane off to UVF we go to Saint Lucia once a year and I just so happened to be on the flight you videoed lol
Great footage !
Thank you so much for filming the QR330 A7-BCX take off. My last normal layover as QR crew before the bloody Covid lockdown. I could feel some metaphysical power of that 787 plane whilst I was watching your video.
Amazing video mate... nice to see the Walt Disney land virgin 747 at Gatwick ... keep up the good work 👍🏻😃
Awesome compilation, impressive the takeoffs from that spot!
Sad that the Virgin's A340's are retiring, they will be missed for sure!
It’s not the a340 it’s the 747
