Some of my favorite moments are Ant talking about his old air conditioning days and being ticketed by the bridge and tunnel officer. I cannot imagine how chopped up those stories would be with Opie there.

Its really good because daffy is funny too. Just not for the reasons he thinks he is.

Keith England he had some great lines here and there for sure some real shock humor stuff when he lands for me but when he swings and misses/bombs/gets completely ignored can be funnier sometimes. That said his balls out tryhard cringe inducing antics and desire to orchestrate vaguely to extremely cruel torment on others is where he shined the brightest. It would be a springboard for so much more. Sometimes he didnt know when to shut his mouth or let funny be funny or maybe not take that unfunny caller but he was the spine of the show. The tracks that moved the train forward but the train could and would derail from and go nuts.

Opie failed to realize, despite Patrice's many explanations, that just coming out & admitting your prejudices makes you infinitely more respectable, & less racist by the way, because you at least acknowledge that you have those thoughts, like everyone else.

Anthony was, is, and always will be the strongest talent on the O and A show. Not counting other comedians that guested. Not Jimmy.. Not Opie. Anthony deserve every nickel he's made. My parents divorced when I was 3 (and my wife and I separated for nearly 2 years but have been back together for 6 months) and this is about the most accurate way to describe the “interactions” and way they talk about each other. And Opie is CLEARLY the scorned, bitter woman.
anthony is an example of a perfect public character. Hes genuine, unapologetic, and so comfortable in his own world that you cant help but respect it. Im opposed with him on so many social and political topics and yet he will always entertain me. The respect he and Jimmy have for each other is so amazing considering they often disagree on basic topics. Open and honest discourse is so important.

Italians are just naturally funnier than everyone else. Mediterranean in general. The anger in their blood (Italian, Lebanese, Greek, etc) makes for laughter, especially when they add humor to the truth.

I've been an Anthony fan since the 90s in Boston and just found this channel. Now I have weeks of new to me content to drowned out the idiots I work with.
You have a 4 month head start on me. This page is the best channel I never knew about. Landau leaving crowder brought me back to Anthony. I only listened to them when jimmy joined way back when. And I honestly forgot how goddamn amazing Anthony is. He literally makes me stop breathing. It's insanity
It's gotta screw with Opie that he once had one of the biggest names in broadcasting, national syndication, and a bunch of famously funny people hanging out with him, and now he is reduced to this. It's gotta be weird for him, dude was practically on top of the world of broadcasting, and the memories of Opie and Anthony were ten times better than anything he could accomplish on his own.

I'd say that's not how narcissists work, but it's really just not how people work. Calling someone out on a serious character flaw will only make them double down and treat you as an enemy in 99% of situations. Opie's the living personification of why we're doomed in that regard.
To this day I can't believe my favorite radio show got completely fucked up because of a tweet. Anthony got assaulted by some woman and tweets about the assault and gets fired. Afterwards the show goes to shit. The whole reason I got my satellite subscription was for the o&a show.
It was actually multiple racist tweets during a whole tirade. We can argue over whether that warranted a firing but Anthony should have known better.

No matter what, that tool was 50% of the greatest shows in radio history. I live in NJ and we were O&A pests from the start. It is an enigma and impossible to have again in today's current climate. Every show would be a cancelfest.
I did try and watch one of Opie's recent videos. He made some unfunny observation about the letters on his beer bottle having dots over them, then burped into the mic. That's it, I was done...edit, a well known comic didn't even want to work with Opie for a million dollars 😅

That comedian (Breuer) had allegedly been considered for Artie Lange’s spot on Stern. He turned down both offers, presumably so as to keep his road-tour-when-I-want and time-with-my-family schedule(s).
During Artie’s final months on-air, you can hear Breuer saying to him “You gotta watch out, man, cause the corporate guys start approaching you, and they whisper… the whispers start.” Felt like a subtle heads-up in retrospect.

In the beginning Opie and Ant were like college buddies. They’d have naked chicks in the studio and high five each other. Jim then came along and had this firey personality that matched Ant’s which more or less made Opie the straight man. Opie then started to resent the fact that he became the straight man which is just as important to the show. I think he probably felt that he was no longer a main player on a show that he created so he became super resentful.

I was randomly at sirus with a band when opie was doing the show with jimmy. Saw him by the huge window awkwardly alone in a chair in the middle of the hallway, he seemed permanently annoyed by everything and nothing.

If Ope could have just been content in his role. In the beginning, even as the "straight man" he would introduce funny topics, then Ant and eventually Jimmy would take off running with it. He did great setting the table, and I wish he could have just been happy with it.

I was just listening to a Jimmy laughing compilation today and it was so brutally obvious that Greg resented the chemistry between Jim and Ant ESPECIALLY in their greatest moments. Greg is vindictive and resentful. Like a woman.
