How to Make DIY Lighted Gift Boxes for Christmas | DIY Holiday Decorating Ideas - Tutorial by Crystal Best
Follow along with me to learn how to make a chic and sophisticated lighted gift box for your home for the holiday season.
You can add this amazing display to any area of your home for your Christmas interior decorating but I personally would recommend placing them right next to your Christmas tree. It adds such elegance to your already beautiful home decor and is super easy and simple to make!

4. 12 4 inch wooden dowels (Instead of buying more you can cut the 8 inch in half)

****Point to note when covering boxes with mesh - My Deco Mesh was only 11 inches wide so I cut it into six inch pieces and coved it with two pieces on each side. The joint was bearly noticeable and the ribbon and bow around the box covered it anyway! 🎀

Did mine too, but I went with a thicker glue so it was transparent. So when the string light ( metal wires ) lights up, it’s like it illuminates brighter:-)

These are beautiful!!! How wide was the mesh? Did you use one size for all the boxes? If you did that would mean you had a seam down the middle of the larger ones right? I also like how you answer all the comments.
Thank you. My mesh was approximately 11 inches. I explain everything in the video description 😊 for how I did it. I cut it down to cover the 4, 6 and 8 box and to cover the 12 inch box I used two pieces of 6 inch mesh for each side. The seam was hardly noticeable and the ribbon also covered it up nicely. 😊😊

Hi, they are regular sized craft dowels. I honestly didn't check the thickness, the 12 inch dowels were maybe a quarter inch thick or so with the smaller dowels being a bit thinner. Glad you liked it and plan to try! 😊

Lovely...I want to try this. How much deco mesh did you use to cover the 4 boxes? And how much ribbon was used as well?
Those I didn't actually measure but I will say that I purchased one roll of deco mesh that was 28 cm wide and 731 cm long and it covered all the boxes with loads to spare and it was a lot less than one roll of ribbon! Hope this helps. ❤️

One question......... wouldn't it b easier to just wrap the cloth around.......then glueing it ....... instead of cutting out the pieces then glueing
Hey, thanks for your comment. I wanted a very seamless look so this is simply how it worked best for me Irma. If wrapping it would be easier for you, you can surely do it that way and get a very similar result. ❤️ Remember, crafting is very personal so do whatever works best for you while crafting. 😊
