no it is not mandatory. No one loses marks for bad handwriting in exams ... he/she may lose marks if the examiner does not understand what is written. So as long as it is legible, it is fine.

Dont do all ten years. Do 2016-19. It will give you an idea of the question paper pattern. Also use them to time urself.

nothing to worry really. You could make him write a paragraph of 5-6 sentences in cursive ... twice a day ... and see if he likes the feel of it ... Let him slip into it gradually, not under pressure
