My brother (visiting from Auckland) assured me that the weather was looking ok for the afternoon on that day after an initial downpour at about 11am. He was wrong. One of the wettest rides I've had in years. Great fun though. One recommendation..... When doing your customary Eagle vs Shark warm-up, try riding the whole track without turning a pedal stroke. Great fun, and the perfect track for a chainless race.
Yes we plan our trips down around the weather. Something went very wrong that day. I do like a chain less race and often will practice tracks without pedaling. It becomes super obvious when you have done a corner badly.
I've been following your channel since I started biking with my family and inspired by how you show those trails. My Mrs was furious when I bought a 2nd hand bike for 1K since I have just started on MTB.
If you are like most mountain bikers that first bike is just the start. As you get better you ended spending more and more money. The secret is to not get injured. Your wife may not like you spending money but not working and lying on the couch really annoys them. Personally mtb is my only hobby so I justify the expense that way. A boat or motorbike would chew through more money.
Good job Lance. Can't half tell you do these videos on a budget otherwise you would of picked a better looking cast to back you:)) Just joking I'm no oil painting myself.
Awesome vid my friend, I was up there that day. After we saw you the previous day I shot up the next morning hoping to catch a ride with you guys and saw you and the lads getting on the shuttle which I missed. That rain was full on alright, I pretty much headed back once it started and got drenched. Keep up the great work lance 👍👍
@@blayde_mtb I think we would all like sponsors. What the pros say and a little bit of my experience is it is a waste of time contacting companies. You have to wait for them to contact you. I don't have any sponsors but have received a few free things and discounts. I did contact a local NZ company to see if they would give me a discount on some wheels in exchange for me promoting them in my videos. They didn't even reply to my email. I think I would need 100 000 subs for anyone to take me seriously.
Carbon fishing rods attract lightning wonder if it is the same with bike frames. As for riding down a river lucky you had the Kerikeri enduro to prepare you for slippery tracks
I would call it an entry level XC bike. I think he got it from the Warehouse which explains the colour. Brave would imply intelligence. I think he has simply taken one too many blows to the head. 🤣🤣🤣

"carbon doesn't conduct electricity" 😂 When Wavesailing we often amuse ourselves by nudging peoples gear on the grass so the tip of carbon mast is gently resting on an electric fence 😜

There is no budget that is the problem. It is more like a wildlife documentary. You simply film what happens and hope for the best.

It was certainly wet. We got the forecast very wrong. I was the only one with a rain coat but that is because I am the brains of the outfit.😆😆😆
I was at Rotorua a couple days and it was great. And your videos are amazing keep it up

As long as you are pedaling the tires should save you from your bike shorting out.

Not a legal track but heavily used. If you are at the top of sidewinder. Head down direct road. It is on your left. No sign but fairly obvious.
