    College Writing - English 1A - Fall 2018 - Episode 5: “Intro this!” - scene 3 of 3
Teaching academic writing, or writing in general, is a curious thing. In order to write anything of substance, you must be able to observe critically and think critically. It is with that aim that I try to teach my students how to think, rather than what to think. I may or may not believe the views and arguments put forward here. The purpose is to instigate thought and create dialogue on topics that are or should be unavoidable when trying to get through life. And yes, strong language is sometimes unavoidable, so be advised.

While the information and conclusions could have been delivered faster, clearer, and developed differently or further in an uninterrupted lecture format, dialogue is essential for students (or anyone for that matter) to really grapple with ideas and grow in their thinking, understanding, and skills. I hope you enjoy and can use something from it!
