The answer can be found in Hebrews 12:10, it says,” For they verily (our parents) for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.” So God doesn’t tempt us because it’s against his nature or purpose. Also, if we look at James 1:13, it says, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:” So what this scripture is saying, we shouldn’t blame God for our temptations, he has nothing do with them. Now, God the Son, Jesus, when he became flesh, he was tempted. In Hebrews 4:15, it says, “ For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points (the devil tempted Jesus humanity) tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” So when the Lord Jesus resisted, he never gave in. Now, think how intensity and pressure Jesus felt when he was tempted, that we never feel. In other words, Jesus felt what we are incapable of feeling when he was tempted by the devil. He took all that Hell could though upon him, without sinning, not even sinful thought entered Jesus' mind. Imagine, ‘pure sin’ coming against ‘pure holiness’ (Jesus), think about the intense pressure Jesus felt if you can? When we are tempted, we are not pure holiness. We are already customed to the Flesh, and Sin, and the way it works. In fact, we were conceived in sin, so when temptation hits us, there is no intense pressure Jesus felt. Remember Jesus never failed, and resisted sin unto the end, and the problem, we do not resist and that is why we fail. Imagine, if you never sinned your life, and sin just came up to you, imagine how stressful or intense that will make you feel? So how do we overcome sin, let’s read Hebrews 12:1-3, it says, “ Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Now, here is the verse) 4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood (now that’s intensity), striving against sin.” What this verse is saying, the intensity was so great, that in Gethsemane is sweet became blood. Did you ever had that happened to you? No, which means we don’t know what intensity is, and if Jesus overcame the intensity, we can overcome anything with him.
Last night my spirit was distracted by sadness, and the next morning I fell back into temptation again. I also caught myself gossiping again, and then I get stuck in the feeling of hatred for myself & feeling unworthy to God. I always seem to find reasons to feel even worse about myself. I need the Holy Spirit 24/7! Pray for me. I am thankful for your teachings. 🤍
This is the teaching i've waited for..i am dealing with the temptation that once in my life i been hooked but when i accepted Jesus i surrender that portion of weaknesses to Him and i can say that i overcome it by the helped of God .and now that i am serving God it is the same weapon use by the enemy to draw near to his territory thats y i always ask God grace and the strength to escape from it..i always pray that thing to be crucify..
