Steel Design - Tension member design to SANS 10162-1 - SD424

- čas přidán 7. 08. 2024
- Worked example for calculating the tensile capacity of a steel angle, according to SANS 10162-1. Issues specifically addressed include gross section failure, net and effective net area failure, shear block failure, and tension failure along a diagonal.
[NOTE: At 12:04 a mistake has been made with copying the value of A'ne. The calculations and final answer are correct, but the value of 4569mm2 should be replaced with 3655mm2 in the equation to calculate Tr. The final value of 1314kN is correct].

Hey keep uploading, im trying to be autodidact. Thanks, also, softwares for structural engineers please (autocad, staad)
If you made a mistake when calculating the tensile failure of A-B-G-D your Tr was supposed to be Tr=0.85*0.9*3655*470*10^-3. Please correct me if I am wrong
I think he made a mistake,he was supposed to use the effective net area not the net area, the Tr= 1314 kN
